We put energy⚡ behind everything we do! Meet new hire Eddie Northcraft, our International Logistics Coordinator at our Repairs Division with his thoughts on MD&A: Q: Why did you choose to work for MD&A? A: I was working for another company doing international logistics and I did a lot of research on MD&A and found out what they did and it was definitely something I was interested in. I’ve been doing logistics for about 15 years now so it piqued my interest. It’s been about four months now and everything‘s out working out great. Q: How would you describe our company culture? A: Everybody’s friendly here! It’s a big corporation but they don’t feel like it. If you have issues and you gotta take a day off here or there - they’re very open and they’re very lenient on giving you what you need. Also if you have any other issues in your personal life - there’s programs that can help you. It’s just an all-around great atmosphere to be in! Q: What has been your favorite project at MD&A so far? A: My favorite project so far today has been a big international project and we’ve had to send trucks by barge over to an island. We’ve done probably around 15 to 20 air freight shipments to it. It’s just been one of those projects that’s a lot of moving pieces and a lot of manpower involved. It’s very challenging but it’s also very rewarding! Explore A Career with a Powerful Purpose! At MD&A, We truly work together, as one team! We collaborate, we listen, we innovate. Interested in joining our team? Today, 28 June 2024, is #LogisticsDay, and we wanted to share some voices from your employees about why this is a great industry to work in. Every day is different. There is always a new project with new logistics challenges to solve together with colleagues worldwide. 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞-𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, but also 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠... all these words describe what it is like to work in logistics. And at the end of the day, when a solution has been found to move a cargo from A to B, by various transport means and through the most remote places, there is nothing more satisfying than a happy customer 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. Remember the time when you were a vertical transportation consultant back in 2018? I do indeed. Fun fact, my elevator 🛗 career began as a file clerk for a vertical transportation consulting firm. And nearly 15 years later I returned to that very place as the Vice President For National Field Operations and a Senior Account / Project Manager. A monumental moment at the time for me personally, to return to the place where my career began. To be honest it wasn’t something I had planned on doing at that point in time. But as the universe does, it presented an unexpected opportunity. And that’s the funny thing about opportunities, you never know when they’ll arise. This is why it is important to hone a multitude of skills. Had I not previously begun honing my white collar skills as a blue collar work, this opportunity would not have happened nor would I have been able to fulfill my duties. So while it is important to master your trade and all the blue collar skills associated with it, it is equally important to master your white collar skills! Like they say, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity”. With that said, here are three (3) books that without question strengthened some important white collar skills. Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win https://lnkd.in/ew3JAYNZ How to Win Friends & Influence People (Dale Carnegie Books) https://lnkd.in/eapsY2zK Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It https://lnkd.in/etPembgR The more we know the more we grow! #yourelevatorpal #lovewhatyoudo #elevators #careers #skilledtrades #opportunities P.S. The best part of the opportunity, outside of being a vertical transportation advisor to many of NYC’s most Icon buildings, was the strong connections I made with my colleagues, customers, and “evil” contractors 😉. You all know who you are 😊 And I can’t thank you enough for the experience.

Logistics 'Placement Protocols'. Guarantee a candidate's suitability for employment, regardless of the logistics role they were recruited for.
It was daunting to walk into the Air & Ocean office on the first day in September 2004. Everyone seemed to be super busy and running around. Some people were on the phone with someone in another part of the world. I instantly knew that I was going to love this. I made it my mission that one day I'll be working and living abroad. Through my passion and determination, I was able to have an amazing career in the logistics world. Here's how I moved up from an entry-level operator to opening a new branch in another country: ➡ I always did more than what was asked. ➡ I learned a lot from the people I worked with. ➡ I was keen to understand how each department worked. ➡ I always tried to go the extra mile for the clients. ➡ I wasn’t afraid of hard work or extra tasks. ➡ I worked well with others and helped out my team. This post isn’t to brag. It's the opposite. I want to show you that it's possible to succeed with some determination. I don’t have a college degree and I don’t think I’m the smartest person out there. But working hard has paid off, and now it's helping me run my own recruitment business. I love this industry and it’s great to see new people do well in it. If you want to talk about how you can move up, I’m here to help. Keep growing! #logistics #transportation #recruiting
