New online platforms, groups and events are being used in more creative ways to support charities, put communities at the core of their business and foster connection. We don’t need to be disruptive about shining a light on ocean-related associations and charities that already exist. 💟 What can your company do to help a charitable cause? 💟 What can you as an individual offer in terms of money, skills or your time? 💥Every year there is Supertreenit Naantali where people are coming to try different types of exercise. Money raised are used for organizing chlidren sport activities. This means that nobody gets paid for their teaching, everyone is volunteering. 🤝 This year I involved two of my instructors, to be able to bring more Freestyler boards and Kangoo jumps shoes. We worked immensily: 👉 to carry all of the equipment, 👉to arrange, 👉to get the people, 👉to put everyone on the right shoes, 👉 to gather at the end all of the stuff. 🥵All of this work was just for publicity, visibility and of course to make more people trying our sports. Maybe no clients will come from this, maybe somebody who understands how great these are, will come some day and say: "Wow, I want your sports in my club too!" Who knows? 🤷♀️ You can never know what will happen if you work hard and not necessarily gain anything on the moment.💪 💫 One thing I know though now after 8 years of promoting my sports: I am worth it and I will push myself out there until someone will admit and say: "You are doing an incredible work for this society and because of you, some lives have been saved! 💚" #worthy #entrepreneurship #fitness #biggoals

An affair with tradition and fashion. Since MCO, CGC Malaysia has a heartwarming tradition of treating its staffs’ children with e-Duit Raya, regardless of rank or race. It's such a thoughtful gesture that shows how much the company value their employees. In Malay culture, Duit Raya can be considered as an act of sedekah (charity) that also encourages good relationship between the giver and the receiver. This tradition is also observed during Chinese New Year and Deepavali, though the mechanics and reasons may differ. 😊 Duit Raya are traditionally given out in money packets. As per every Hari Raya, CGC Malaysia produces money packets for its staff, customers, and partners. This year, our money packet was designed based on the Songket motif. The Songket pattern is used because it is highly regarded and it is a traditional fabric used in Malay culture, often associated with formal occasions and celebrations like Hari Raya. Day #10 of Cycle for Hope: 1400km/2000km ✅ 💰Funds raised: $52,113/$100,000 for the Mae Tao Clinic Never imagined that 🇹🇭 Thai Food 🍽️ will look like back to back trips to 7-11 though I must say the selection is pretty wide and I'll highly recommend the squid-ink shrimp pasta 🦐🍝 if you're every passing through... 🛣🚧 Roads have been far less kind in the last couple of hundred kilometres, with just 1 lane for lorries, cars, motorbikes and cyclists like yours truly to share at times- but the drivers have been mostly considerate and graceful. 🌐 Language is a huge hurdle with English being almost non-existent in Southern Thailand, and I've been managing to get around with voice translation apps and Google lens through the small towns. If I've learnt anything so far from this expedition, it would be that things often get harder before they get easier... 💡We often take a long and outsized view of our problems and a short and dwarfed view of our resources. Learning to see things in perspective and with gratitude and not take oneself so seriously can evaporate anxiety. A wise guy once advised me to just keep taking small and manageable steps in the right direction, and that's precisely what I hope to continue doing. While doing some sightseeing in Italy, I visited the Trevi Fountain. I’m sure there are companies involved in restoring and maintaining this world-famous landmark. Maybe some companies offer their services in-kind. However, we would consider it tacky to have a banner across the Trevi Fountain: RESTORATION SPONSORED BY ABC FOUNTAINS, INC. A far better option would be for the Trevi Foundation to host a seminar on historic preservation and include someone from ABC Fountains, Inc. as a panelist. Similarly, it’s tacky when associations just display a WEBINAR SPONSORED BY XYZ COMPANY on the last slide of a webinar. Road cycling and investor meetings don't go together? Those who have attended our Stockpicker Summits know that the opposite is true. That's why we're launching a new format: 𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗕 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 🚴♂️ Our concept consists of two components: 1. Investor meetings with a twist We bring European investors together with exciting listed companies. And where better to do this than on a road bike? Admittedly, conversations aren't ideal during an ascent, but they're all the better over a bite to eat afterwards or on the flat sections. 2. Every kilometer counts ❣ To ensure that not only the tour participants benefit but also people in need of help, we will set a charitable cause in advance. Everyone can then decide for themselves how much to donate per kilometer completed. The minimum pledge is €1. The locations will vary. We'll start with 📍 Mallorca! Cyclists know the island is the perfect spot for this format. There are only two conditions: No e-bikes and no Rabobank jerseys :) I am already looking forward to the first rides together.
