January is National Mentoring Month A quote that has always resonated with me is: “Be who you needed when you were younger.” It reminds me of how powerful mentoring can be in shaping lives. I strive every day to embody this quote. Yet, 1 in 3 young people—16 million—will reach age 19 without a mentor outside of their family. The Mentoring Connector is a free service that helps quality youth mentoring programs across the country recruit more local volunteers. 🌟Expanding Mentorship to Empower More Youth🌟  The Circle Program is thrilled to pilot an innovative Group Mentoring Program, pairing girls and youth with one or two mentors to strengthen connections and extend opportunities. This new approach allows us to reach more youth with our current mentors, creating a greater impact than ever before. Mentors Reba Lewis and Lilly Taccetta, who are leading this initiative, have already seen the power of these connections. Reba shared:   "We’re paired with two sets of sisters, and while there was some nervousness at first, the girls quickly connected through laughter and shared camp memories. Watching them bond and hearing them say it was the 'best day ever' makes it all so rewarding. Being a co-mentor has been equally fulfilling, as Lilly and I have formed a strong partnership that completes the circle of support." By fostering community and connection, this group mentoring approach ensures every youth enrolled in the Circle Program can access meaningful guidance and friendships. It’s an incredible way to serve more participants while maintaining the program’s heart and mission. 💙  Thank you to Reba, Lilly, and everyone who is helping to make this expanded outreach a reality. Did you know that 1 in 4 young people feel lonely all or most of the time? At the end of last year, I signed up for my 2nd year of mentoring with Raise Foundation. Not only is mentoring with Raise Foundation hugely rewarding, it’s critical to help our young people navigate this new age world we live in. The experience and industry-leading training taught me lessons I can apply in my role as a corporate leader as well as a parent. It was humbling realising what a positive difference I helped make at such a challenging and formative time in my mentee’s life.   The Raise mentoring program can truly change a young person’s life.
