January is National Mentoring Month A quote that has always resonated with me is: “Be who you needed when you were younger.” It reminds me of how powerful mentoring can be in shaping lives. I strive every day to embody this quote. It’s also the inspiration behind my career coaching business, #BWHO Career Mentoring, where I work with high school, college and young adults to increase their self, career, and post secondary awareness. https://lnkd.in/g7drAau2 🔑 Why Mentoring Matters: MENTOR’s The Mentoring Effect report highlights that youth with mentors are more likely to excel in school, lead in their communities, and pursue education and career opportunities. Yet, 1 in 3 young people—16 million—will reach age 19 without a mentor outside of their family. The Mentoring Connector is a free service that helps quality youth mentoring programs across the country recruit more local volunteers. Anyone interested in becoming a mentor can search for mentoring opportunities by zip code, ages of youth served, and program type to find and contact programs that interest them. https://lnkd.in/gYNReWfs

Mentorship: the gift of guidance, encouragement, and connection. It’s about being there for someone as they navigate life’s challenges and helping them uncover their potential. For the youth in Circle’s program, mentorship means having someone in their corner—a trusted adult who listens, empowers, and inspires. A mentor’s impact goes far beyond the moment. They help build confidence, foster resilience, and create opportunities for growth. During this season of giving, what better way to give back than by investing your time and heart into empowering the next generation? **We Need You!** As we prepare for the new year, Circle is looking to fill more mentor spots to support girls and youth across NH. Becoming a mentor means giving a gift that truly lasts a lifetime. 💙 Are you ready to make a difference? 🌟Expanding Mentorship to Empower More Youth🌟 The Circle Program is thrilled to pilot an innovative Group Mentoring Program, pairing girls and youth with one or two mentors to strengthen connections and extend opportunities. This new approach allows us to reach more youth with our current mentors, creating a greater impact than ever before. Mentors Reba Lewis and Lilly Taccetta, who are leading this initiative, have already seen the power of these connections. Reba shared: "We’re paired with two sets of sisters, and while there was some nervousness at first, the girls quickly connected through laughter and shared camp memories. Watching them bond and hearing them say it was the 'best day ever' makes it all so rewarding. Being a co-mentor has been equally fulfilling, as Lilly and I have formed a strong partnership that completes the circle of support." By fostering community and connection, this group mentoring approach ensures every youth enrolled in the Circle Program can access meaningful guidance and friendships. It’s an incredible way to serve more participants while maintaining the program’s heart and mission. 💙 Thank you to Reba, Lilly, and everyone who is helping to make this expanded outreach a reality. Together, we’re creating life-changing opportunities for more youth across New Hampshire! #MentorshipMatters #ExpandingImpact #CircleCommunity #EmpoweringYouth

Did you know that 1 in 4 young people feel lonely all or most of the time? At the end of last year, I signed up for my 2nd year of mentoring with Raise Foundation. Not only is mentoring with Raise Foundation hugely rewarding, it’s critical to help our young people navigate this new age world we live in. The experience and industry-leading training taught me lessons I can apply in my role as a corporate leader as well as a parent. It was humbling realising what a positive difference I helped make at such a challenging and formative time in my mentee’s life. The Raise mentoring program can truly change a young person’s life. Anyone can become a mentor and Raise are seeking new mentors for 2025! Together let’s kick these statistics: 💙 Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people. 💙 1 in 4 young people feel lonely all or most of the time. 💙 1 in 6 young people feel negative or very negative about the future. 💙 1 in 11 young people are disengaged from education and work. Mentor applications are open now for a 2025 start – sign up today, you won’t regret it https://lnkd.in/g8z7ew9s #youthmentoring #volunteering #SchneiderElectric #SchnedierElectricFoundation #RaiseFoundation #supportyoungpeople #mentalhealth
