PCCI In The News: Harvard Business Review This story in Harvard Business Review summarized by the TEACHING HOSPITALS OF TEXAS, includes PCCI's contribution to Parkland Health's pediatric asthma mitigation program: "Parkland Health, the county hospital for Dallas, Texas, has been a pioneer in using predictive analysis to improve quality. For instance, its Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation developed a computer model to assess the risk of illness in children with asthma in six targeted Dallas zip codes. That model used EHR data to flag children at risk of deterioration and to prompt primary care interventions and home visits. Costly asthma-related inpatient admissions were cut by half for 93,000 children." https://lnkd.in/gTZcyJCh

This is incredibly important work. The way to improve healthcare is through real-life interventions and connections at the community level. Progress happens one relationship at a time. "The recommendations identify four public health system dimensions across which most health department and CBO partners can operationalize best practices for transforming their partnerships: organizational culture; leadership and governance; data, measurement and evaluation; and funding and investments. ...As partners tailor the recommendations to their unique and local contexts, they are encouraged to embrace discomfort and to prioritize progress over perfection, paving the way for stronger, more equitable and enduring partnerships."
