One Journey Complete... The Clockwork journey is complete now for me; from founding the Company 20 years ago, to selling the Company to a large American Software Group 15 Months ago. ‘The tick is in the box’. Anybody reading my posts knows I am a TEAM player and I believe the term ‘self-made man’ should be reserved for Sole Traders. ‘Always recruit people that are smarter than you are!’ Also, one of the most rewarding parts was helping launch the careers of what were young, enthusiastic people who are now older, still enthusiastic but wiser people working at Clockwork and other Software Companies. Well done to them all. Having completed this Journey my takeaway was to clearly identify the station at which you are stepping off the train and what enough really looks like. ‘…..but you’re too young to retire!!’ I hear you say, please, just one person, please say it! Yes, I agree, and as Chairman of Amasys now, this gives me the flexibility to get involved with start-ups and entrepreneurs that are a few stations back and need help directing their train, and to get involved in important projects like Health Care, which I think we can all agree is slightly broken here in the UK. One Journey complete...Another few just starting…exciting times…stay tuned.
