What I ❤️ about #RPMCareers: 1️⃣ The amazing people and friendships! 💪 IYKYK - working onsite is something you just have to experience to understand. It requires thick skin, it requires empathy, and it requires customer service skills (yes, customer service is a SKILL). But I met some of my favorite people in the world onsite! 2️⃣ The awards and recognition! 🏆 The company awards, association awards, NAA awards...the list goes on. Many of my favorite memories are from awards events - cheering my teams on, helping to hand out awards, and even getting a few myself! It's a challenging and chaotic industry and having those moments of bringing everyone together in celebration and recognizing team members for their invaluable contributions is essential. 3️⃣ The opportunity for growth 📈 Whether from a leasing agent to a property manager, onsite to corporate, small company to large company, or even operator to supplier - there is so much opportunity for (fast) growth! ⚡️Critical impact visits don’t happen by accident.⚡️ As I head off for a day of ‘ops-servations’ with a passionate multi-unit manager, I wonder what preparation will have been done prior to the visit? Will there be clear evidence of… 📋 Agenda - Has both the GM and the multi-unit manager contributed to a plan for the visit? What value is the multi-unit manager intending to add to their team today, as after all; we visit people, not buildings! 🔍 Focus - What operational lenses - team growth, quality of operations, customer experience and financial performance- are the key focus for today? What preparation has been done to ensure the time is most effectively used today? ✅ Follow up - Which tasks or commitments from prior visits and discussions are to be reviewed today? What progress towards monthly or quarterly goals, is the multi-unit manager expecting to see evidenced by the team? Have they got a mindset of “catching people doing things right” or is it biased towards pointing out the mistakes made? My journey to being an Account Manager was unexpected but led me to Premier Claims. Sometimes, our career paths take unexpected turns based on our experiences and opportunities that come our way. For me it was my background in the Staffing field l fine tuned my skills in communication, relationship-building, and understanding client needs, which are essential for success in account management roles. It's fascinating how life can lead us down paths we never anticipated, yet ultimately, they can align with our strengths and passions. It's understandable that being an Account Manager comes with its ups and downs. Managing client relationships and meeting their needs can be rewarding but also challenging at times. The key is to learn from both the good and bad experiences, continually improving your skills and strategies along the way. And always willing to fall forward and get back up!
