Week 26 Challenge: ‘Enemy at the Gates’ Throughout our military history, there are many stories of the accomplishments of snipers and among them are famous stories of sniper versus sniper battles such as the one depicted in the movie “Enemy at the Gates”. In this week’s challenge, we will follow a similar mode of game play as our Week 5 Challenge: ‘Sniper’, but with a unique ‘sniper vs sniper’ twist! Objective: eliminate the opposing player’s sniper or the sniper’s ability to fight by eliminating all opposing leader game pieces. Setup: using all game boards in the standard 3x3 array, each player places all of their game pieces within the first three game boards on his/her respective side of the gameplay area except for their sniper game piece and whichever leader game piece they choose to use with it. This is because these two pieces will remain hidden or ‘camouflaged’ until they reveal their location. Instead, these pieces will be tracked by the respective players on their own pieces of paper to keep their location hidden until revealed. Special Rules: The sniper game pieces and their accompanying leader game pieces are only revealed if they are involved in an attack, or used as supportive fire during an attack, or if the opposing player’s movement lands on or would pass over those game pieces. At this time, the player with the exposed sniper and leader will place those pieces on the game board. After being exposed, the sniper and the accompanying leader can return to being hidden on that player’s next turn. It is recommended that you have a third player participate as a ‘referee’ to make sure that all rules are followed. Good luck and have a great weekend!
