Aphex Twin’s live shows are a glimpse into what concerts of the future will look like with augmented reality. These graphics are made by the pioneering artist Weirdcore and they push onstage visuals to whole new levels. Anyone who’s been to an Aphex Twin show in recent years knows how insane and entertaining his shows have become. You’re entirely overwhelmed by these crazy graphics that feel like glitches in reality. Footage of the crow is also integrated into the visuals so that audience members can see themselves twisted and warped around the stage. It makes the whole experience more exciting and creates an incredibly immersive atmosphere that I think we’re going to see more artists aspiring towards in the near future. Aphex Twin has always been at the forefront of innovation in the music industry and in finding ways to flip things on their head. The mind boggles to think about what he’d achieve with the full capabilities of AR at his disposal. A number of years ago, Brandon Andrews, Gauge witnessed the first VR headsets and experiences that were brought to the US capital. Watching how "VR devices immediately engaged and transported members of congress into new spaces and ideas," was an eyeopener about tech innovation, policy, and access.
