Great summary of the dynamics of the supply side. The demand side of the equation is also key to feeding the world without exacerbating climate change. We consumers must shift our diets away from fast food, incorporate more diverse plants into our recipes, and learn to value our weekly CSA box more than a daily $12 latte. “Support your local farmer” needs to come from all directions including retail customer behavior, food and environmental policy, incentives and subsidies, and housing support for people who work in the fields. 🌾 New acquisition aims to help farmers increase yield while taking limited risks. Mountain Valley MD Holdings Inc has secured an exclusive license for Agrarius Corp’s agricultural plant signaling technology, Agrarius, in key markets including North America. This technology is an organic product designed to enhance crop yields, reduce the need for fertilizers, and improve resilience to pests and climate change. CEO Dennis Hancock views this acquisition as a significant milestone for Mountain Valley MD, positioning the company as a key player in the agricultural market. The agreement includes launching a performance guarantee program for Agrarius, initially targeting US farm operations. Prospective clients will only pay for Agrarius after it has achieved a minimum agreed-upon performance enhancement on the targeted crop, demonstrating its disruptive nature while limiting financial risk for clients. Mountain Valley MD and Agrarius Corp will share in the guarantee, with Mountain Valley MD not required to pay for the product until the performance threshold is met. This pay-for-performance model aligns the interests of both companies with those of farming clients, ensuring optimized crop performance and limiting clients' risk.
