Today, we will demonstrate how to cook a variety of dishes simultaneously with a rice cooker steamer, which can create up to 4 dishes at once in a single pot: 💯 1. Longan, Jujube, and White Fungus Soup 2. Pork Ribs Marinated with Black Beans 3. Shumai (Chinese Dumplings) 4. Xiaolongbao (Soup Dumplings) 🥦 Ingredients: 1. Making Longan, Jujube, and White Fungus Soup in a Rice Cooker: - Jujube: 10 pieces - Longan: 5 grams - White Fungus: 30 grams - Rock Sugar: 75 grams - Water: 1000 milliliters 2. Making Pork Ribs Marinated with Black Beans in a Steamer: - Pork Ribs: 350 grams - Black Beans: 1 handful 3. Shumai and Xiaolongbao: Use pre-made ones and steam them until cooked. 🍽 Cooking Steps: 1. Place the longan, jujube, and white fungus along with the rock sugar into the inner pot and add 2 cups of water. 2. Add clean water to the outer pot. 3. Insert the inner pot into the outer pot. 4. Place the first steamer tray on the rice cooker and add the pork ribs marinated with black beans. (For this dish, we use steaming to cook the food, and we recommend placing dishes that take longer to cook in the first steamer tray.) 5. Stack the second steamer tray on top of the first one and place the shumai on it. 6. Cover the steamer with the lid, then place the final dish, xiaolongbao, on the top tray for steaming. 7. Once all the food is arranged in the pot, press the switch to start the rice cooker. 8. Wait for the food to boil, and the switch will pop up when done. While green tea and matcha have become normalized in popular coffee chains in America, in Japan, tea goes much deeper than a simple drink. 🍵 It is a “religion of the art of life,” according to Okakura Kakuzō, a scholar and author of “The Book of Tea.” Tea ceremonies are an art form in Japan, heightening one's spiritual connection between host and guests, because it acts as a way to pause life and connect through the tea, cup, water, and each other. 🫖 Although there are many different types of tea, all tea originally comes from the leaves of the same plant called camellia sinensis. 🌿 The diversity in flavor and appearance of teas such as oolong, black, and green tea all derive their specific colors and tastes from their fermentation process. Some leaves are dried naturally in open air or direct sunlight, while others are steamed, roasted, or boiled to prevent fermentation. All these different methods produce different flavors. 🍃 Shizuoka Prefecture is the top green tea producer in Japan, with Oigawa leading the production of it. 🌱 Tea is not only for drinking as freshly picked leaves can be battered and deep fried to make tea leaf tempura, a crunchy and flavorful dish. Other dishes like rakkani, salty, sweet braised peanuts, are the perfect snacks to eat with tea. Viewing terrace tea salons are commonly found in Japan for guests to sit and drink tea as they enjoy the scenic views of Shizuoka.
