Next phase of business park to take off

Port is for Christmas, or is it? I always remember one summer at Majestic where the Muswell Hill branch welcomed a new member to the team. He had just returned from working at Taylor's Port House, where serving port in the height of summer was the norm. Guess what? He absolutely smashed sales for the store that summer breaking company records. I questioned him whilst he visited our store on a stock run. How did you manage it? Here's what he did: Had the confidence to challenge conventional thinking. Changing customer perceptions is no easy feat, but he embraced the challenge. Leveraged his unique experience and knowledge. By sharing his expertise and enthusiasm for port, he made it accessible and exciting for the customers. Created a unique customer experience. He offered tastings and shared the perfect summer pairings, transforming port from a winter drink into a summer sensation. Lesson learned: Innovation often starts with challenging the status quo. Another strong year for Industrial & Logistics in 2023, where ultra-low vacancies, high pre-lease levels and rising rents were maintained by sustained sector demand. Recent months have particularly been testament to the escalating reliance that Australians have on e-commerce. For example, our valued tenant customer Australia Post achieved a record number of parcel processing rates in November during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday online shopping boom. As this momentum continues before Christmas, it’s a reminder about just how important Industrial & Logistics is to Australian businesses and homes. In 2024, we’ll see steady population growth continue to increase the need for innovative, sustainable and high-quality industrial solutions that support our customers’ supply chain strategies. That’s why we’re focused on capitalising on projected economic growth through the delivery of more state-of-the-art facilities that support our valued tenant customers. Following on from 17 recent development completions, I’m particularly excited for the completion of our first multi-level warehouse, Ascent on Bourke, primely positioned in Alexandria to meet tenant customer demands for last-mile logistic centres. Thanks to our fantastic Charter Hall team, investors, development partners and tenant customers for another impressive year for Industrial and Logistics.
