Have you seen our new advertising campaign? 📺 We are rolling out a brand new Nordic marketing concept for our meal kit services Godtlevert (Norway), Retnemt Måltidskasser (Denmark), and Linas Matkasse (Sweden) to strengthen their position in their respective markets. This is the first time a common Nordic theme is implemented for these three brands. 🎊 The concept is called “Approved by life”, linking the service even closer to the issue that mealkits help solve for our customers; namely the challenges of everyday life. NORD DDB Oslo has worked on strategy, creative concept, and production together with our marketing team. 🎬 The concept is based on a key insight: families that take the time to have dinners together often experience an improved quality of life. Therefore, the new concept is turning the dishes into everyday heroes. Sometimes you have to whip up a Carbonara quickly before training, other times it's pan-fried salmon with homework help. In 2014, my Creative Director introduced me to some of the best ads, and Budweiser’s "Whassup" was one of them. It stuck in my mind like no other. The ad wasn’t just promoting beer; it became a cultural phenomenon, showing how creativity can make a brand part of everyday life. When I first saw it, I kept repeating the ad that day; it was so entertaining that, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I can only imagine how it would connect with those who actually drink the brand. What struck me about "Whassup" was its simplicity and authenticity. Featuring friends casually connecting over the phone with exaggerated "Whassup!" greetings, it wasn’t about flashy visuals or a glamorous lifestyle but about genuine human connection. This made the ad feel real and relatable, even to those who don’t drink alcohol. The brilliance of "Whassup" lies in how it became part of everyday language, demonstrating the lasting impact of a simple idea. For me, it’s a perfect example of how creativity can evolve into a cultural touchstone, proving that the most powerful ads often come from simplicity and authenticity.
