3 weeks in and I still haven’t been able to get this one print done in a presentable way. Ankermake ( I used to call it MacBook of 3D printers but I take it back ) keeps failing and I don’t know how to hack into the Gcode to give me good overhangs . I did learn something though : keep using the same filament. Stop experimenting w different ones ( ankermake AI learn slow ) I hope to finish this before 2024! #3ddesign #3dprint #3dsculpting

What is curious about 3d printing industry is that it is still looking for new design solutions for 3d printers. There is always something that you can improve or change, especially in 3D printing machines. Below, you can find a 6-axis 3D printer. This market is already quite old, but nobody has built this type of 3d printer as you can see in this video.

Great points! We used some 3D-printed components onboard ships and in ground support equipment that were utilised in aviation. However, in my experience, it has a long way to go to find a robust market in Defence. The integration of AI with metal 3D printing and CNC machines indeed has the potential to revolutionise precision tools, robotics, and industrial manufacturing. Your concerns are valid. The structural strength and load-bearing capacity of 3D printed parts are critical factors, especially for applications in industries like aerospace, military, and automotive. However, advancements in materials science and printing techniques continually improve the strength and durability of 3D printed parts. The capital cost of these machines is indeed high at present, but as with any technology, we can expect the costs to decrease as the technology matures and scales up. Mass production could certainly help in this regard. Sustainability is another important aspect. While 3D printing can reduce waste by using only the material needed for the part, the energy consumption of these machines is a concern. However, ongoing research and development are likely to make these processes more energy-efficient in the future. While there are challenges, the potential benefits of this technology are immense.
