AI enabled metal 3D Printing with CNC machine means revolution in precision tools, robotics and Industrial manufacturing...only worries will be
⬆️Structural strength - load bearing capacity
⬆️Capital cost - if its possible to produce these machines in mass
⬆️Sustainable? or not

Great points!
We used some 3D-printed components onboard ships and in ground support equipment that were utilised in aviation. However, in my experience, it has a long way to go to find a robust market in Defence.
The integration of AI with metal 3D printing and CNC machines indeed has the potential to revolutionise precision tools, robotics, and industrial manufacturing.
Your concerns are valid. The structural strength and load-bearing capacity of 3D printed parts are critical factors, especially for applications in industries like aerospace, military, and automotive. However, advancements in materials science and printing techniques continually improve the strength and durability of 3D printed parts.
The capital cost of these machines is indeed high at present, but as with any technology, we can expect the costs to decrease as the technology matures and scales up. Mass production could certainly help in this regard.
Sustainability is another important aspect. While 3D printing can reduce waste by using only the material needed for the part, the energy consumption of these machines is a concern. However, ongoing research and development are likely to make these processes more energy-efficient in the future.
While there are challenges, the potential benefits of this technology are immense. It’s an exciting time to be in this field!

Just came across a fascinating video that showcases a groundbreaking development in 3D printing technology. An independent engineer has introduced the TIME system (True Independent Multiple Extrusion), a revolutionary approach that enables multiple tools to operate independently across all axes. This innovation opens up new possibilities, like printing with diverse materials in a single job or precisely adjusting an object’s weight or center of gravity.
What captivates me isn't just the technology but the journey of creativity and problem-solving that brought this idea to life. From using a grill plate as a makeshift printer base to navigating through numerous engineering challenges, it's a testament to how passion and persistence can lead to groundbreaking innovations.
I believe sharing and discussing cutting-edge developments like this not only fuels our collective imagination but also pushes the boundaries of what's possible in our fields.
How do you see this impacting the future of 3D printing and design?
How else could this concept be explored?
