This is exciting! Our latest research is now published in Cell Reports Medicine. Introducing ‘Disruption Networks’ – a personalized computational network framework. Using this framework, we identified a pan-disease blood-based biomarker for anti-TNF response, paving the way for drug repositioning in blood. ‘Disruption Networks’ provides a system-level understanding of disease mechanisms and drug response, and exposes differential regulation at the individual level. It can be applied to any 'omic and condition, bringing new insight for studying disease complexity and its interactions with drugs and/or the environment. What's the impact on next-gen medicine?   Our findings challenge the traditional notion that drug response is solely tied to the disease. Instead, we show that patient response to a drug is a property of the drug itself. Our results indicate that the journey to precision diagnostics and drug repositioning may be shorter than expected, particularly for immunotherapies, where blood proves to be a pertinent tissue for signal detection.   Kudos to our incredible team at my lab in the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and CytoReason!
