Put down what ever you are doing and please read this.... I am just dropping on to LinkedIn amplifying Will Hansen 's latest post . While we are all worried about what we can and can't put in our #compost, here Will is getting abattoir waste to the end of the equivalent of the thermophilic stage by essentially directly employing the enzymes the thermophilic microbes use but at 80°C and done in 3.5 hours (not 35 hours or 3.5 days, that's no typo!) https://lnkd.in/gHyxS2P5 (click that if you don't believe me and see for yourself) Do you want to sleep on it maybe? Batch process your organic waste over night as easy as washing clothes or washing your dishes, all while you sleep. We have a phrase in New Zealand, " Done by lunchtime' it has its roots in the politics of nuclear armaments I don't have to waffle on to the 3000 word limit like I usually do. This speaks for itself... I challenge anybody that operates a composting business to amplify this post and add their own thoughts because I have been in recycling for 20 years and occasionally you see some clever guy do something really clever turning real dog poo into the sweetest honey and this is the best recycling I have ever seen! And 'Moore' than that, it's not some plastic s**the like Polystyrene, this is returning the remnants of the living back into Mother Nature's arms to foster new life. My post tomorrow 'The Day the World Changed...' That's my #Verdia_View #30C #makecompostmainstream #foodwaste #sustainability #Verdia https://lnkd.in/gqQ5VAg8 https://lnkd.in/gKgwaRn7

An appetising image of UCO in my garage, clearly I have a thing for Irn-Bru 👀🥤 🙌 Practicing what I preach. This is a collection of my household's cooking oil over the past 10 years! ♻️ Ready to be responsibly recycled. Imagine the damage this could cause if it went down the sink instead of being repurposed. 🍳 Next time you’re frying your eggs, think about where that oil ends up. 🌍 Doing my bit for the environment... are you doing yours? #UCO #recycling #sustainability #environmentalimpact

I am loving this transition in protein packaging.
It's International Compost Awareness Week!!! This global initiative highlights the immense potential of composting and compost as nature-based solutions to combat climate change. At PlantFusion, we’ve spent the past year researching ways to lead the charge in sustainable packaging. We're excited to announce our new Complete Organic Plant Protein which is packaged in a 100% compostable gusset bag. It's the only gusset that is both BPI and Lomi Compost Machine Certified. We've made a huge investment in sustainable protein packaging not only because customers have demanded the shift, but also because it's the right thing for the future of our industry. Happy International Compost Awareness Week and Happy Mother's Day Mother Earth!

Happy #EarthDay! Today, we're tipping our hats to our client Anderson Valley Brewing Company, a true pioneer in sustainable craft brewing. For over 30 years, they've been setting the standard with their eco-friendly initiatives. Here's a glimpse into their remarkable efforts: 1️⃣ Solar Power: Anderson Valley Brewing Company has been harnessing the sun's energy since 2005, making them the World's First Solar Powered Brewery. Their commitment to self-generated renewable energy is unparalleled. 2️⃣ Zero-Impact Water Program: With a unique Zero-Impact Water Program, they've completely revolutionized water usage. For over 25 years, they've sourced all their water from 10 on-site wells and treated all wastewater with their state-of-the-art system. Their dedication to maintaining a self-contained water cycle even attracts local wildlife! 3️⃣ Nitrogen Generator: Say goodbye to CO2 emissions! Anderson Valley Brewing Company has reduced their carbon footprint by over 70% with their innovative nitrogen generator. By harvesting nitrogen from the air, they've not only slashed greenhouse gas emissions, but also eliminated the need for dozens of CO2 delivery trucks. 4️⃣ Net-Zero Waste: Waste not, want not! Since the mid-1990s, Anderson Valley Brewing Company has embraced a sustainable brewing philosophy at every turn. None of their brewhouse waste ends up in landfills; instead, they repurpose spent grains and yeast to feed local cattle and recycle or upcycle their bourbon barrels. 5️⃣ Plastic-Free Packaging: Leading the charge for sustainable packaging, they made the switch to 100% plastic-free packaging in 2022. By exclusively using cans with cardboard wraps, they've embraced the most eco-friendly beer packaging available. Not only are cans lighter and more portable, but they're also endlessly recyclable, significantly reducing their environmental footprint. Cheers to Anderson Valley Brewing Company for their unwavering commitment to sustainability! If you're curious about how environmental practices can benefit your business and the planet, reach out to us today! Let's brew a brighter future together. #SustainableBrewing #EarthDay2024

Key Account Manager at Agrain | Pioneering Upcycling & Circular Food Systems ♻️ | Spent Grain Flour🌾 | Health & Nutrition 💪 - syi@circularfoodtech.com
Upcycling food is the way to go! Just yesterday, Anna Verlinde and I had the chance to talk at the Bryggeriforeningen / Danish Brewers’ Association Nordic Technical Meeting 2024. We presented how spent grains from brewing can be turned into human food. While some folks were looking into making biogas, and others were curious about using them for animal feed, we talked about why upcycling them is better. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the best ways to handle food waste are to prevent it or upcycle it. These methods make sure food fulfills its main job: feeding people. It’s pretty clear that turning spent grains into something useful not only cuts down on waste but also helps the planet. What do you think about upcycling? #Sustainability #Innovation #BrewingIndustry #CircularEconomy
