Significant 107% Increase of Mineral Resource Ounces at Laverton Project. Magnetic Resources NL ASX:MAU, MD George Sakalidis “The Lady Julie North 4 Resource has been the prime drilling focus as reported in periodic releases to the ASX. It has multiple stacked lodes with a number of thick intersections that have not been closed off at depth. The initial deeper drilling started on the 25 January 2023 and has expanded in subsequent months to a 95-hole RC program for 16,356m. Drilling is continuing, with holes in excess of 400m depth, which is expected to increase the current resource at LJN4 of 13.1Mt at 2.02g/t for 852,000oz at a 0.5g/t cut off (Table 2). This LJN4 deposit sits within a regional structure called the Chatterbox Shear Zone that extends over a 12km length within the Magnetic tenements. This shear extends southwards of LJN4 and has had initial AC and RC drilling completed and some anomalous intersections that will be followed up with some shallow RC drilling for the purpose of finding further gold deposits. Drilling in the last 6 months included diamond drill holes for geotechnical evaluation of proposed pits, and for hydrology analysis. Project environmental, heritage and technical background studies are close to completion – optimisation and pit design has commenced on LJC and the expanded LJN4 – the aim is to prepare and submit a Mining Proposal in early 2024. Other strategic opportunities are also being investigated”. As the global mining industry works towards meeting stringent new tailings dam standards, SRK Consulting is highlighting some of the less predictable factors in planning these engineered landforms for the long term – emphasising the important role of consulting engineers in the design and monitoring of these facilities. https://lnkd.in/dGu-BEFK

We designed, supervised, implemented, and reported a multi-phase investigation to support the site remediation and construction a Place of Worship in Consett. The seemingly straightforward scheme encountered a range of challenges, including potential ground subsidence associated with historical coal mining, generally poor ground conditions and contamination including “Blue Billy” and hydrocarbons. 🌟 Hydraulic Fracturing Technology for initial roof caving in coal mining by CCTEG 🚀 At the Jinjitan Coal Mine's 110 and 111 top coal caving working faces, we made a successful hydraulic fracturing process for initial roof caving, addressing the challenge of initial roof caving in top coal caving faces. 🛠️ The project employed a novel technique combining "conventional short-hole hydraulic fracturing" with "directional long drilling hole hydraulic fracturing." This approach not only solved pre-splitting in the coal seam roof but also addressed the problem of controlling the range and intensity of overburden movement caused by the transformation of large rock masses into smaller ones in the roadway surrounding rock. The short-hole drilling totaled 2,435 meters, with 724 segments fractured, while the long-hole drilling reached 891 meters, with 18 segments fractured. 🔍 The comprehensive assessment of the multi-dimensional hydraulic fracturing in weakening the overburden showed that all indicators met the expected outcomes. When the working face advanced 34 meters, the basic roof pressure occurred, indicating excellent initial roof caving results. 💡 This new technique of multi-dimensional hydraulic fracturing for initial roof caving represents a green, environmentally friendly, and efficient technology for hard roof pressure relief. It offers a novel alternative to traditional explosive blasting techniques for cross cutting and advanced pre-treatment of dynamic pressure disasters. This innovative technology provides a solid technical guarantee for mine safety production and leads the way in advancing mine dynamic disaster prevention towards proactive pre-treatment, regional multi-dimensional pressure relief, and safe, green, and efficient development. #Mining #HydraulicFracturing #CoalMining #GreenTechnology #CCTEG #MiningSafety

Corporate energy and mining attorney specializing in the transactional and regulatory landscape of the energy transition
To help fuel domestic #mining and #mineralprocessing for the #energytransition, it would be great to see action on the Interagency Working Group's recommendation to develop something like the Western Solar Plan for mining on federal lands. Working with various stakeholders, BLM and USFS should put together a plan identifying "priority areas" where proposed projects would be subject to a streamlined #permitting process because there is high development potential with minimal conflicts with #localcommunities, #wildlife, and #plants. Proactive conflict identification and mitigation can help us ramp up production to meet the demands of the #energytransition while not sacrificing #tribal and local #communityengagement and #biodiversityconservation. Great background and additional recommendations contained in the report: https://lnkd.in/eYbMBfq2 "Conflicts over mining and ancillary uses are more likely to arise when mineral-rich areas also contain other highly valuable resources. The IWG believes that much more can be done to identify, avoid, minimize, and mitigate environmental impacts and development conflicts by better integrating land management planning and mineral exploration and development efforts. The IWG encourages the BLM and USFS to identify areas possessing high critical mineral resource development potential and where mineral development is less likely to result in unacceptable impacts to known competing resources. This effort can be modeled after programmatic planning efforts identifying priority areas for wind and solar development, provided additional data is collected in the location of potential mineral resources."

Navigating the complexities of drilling holes for blasting in underground mines, especially in areas with a high groundwater table, adds an extra layer of challenge to mining operations. The presence of water complicates the drilling process, requiring specialised techniques and equipment to manage groundwater inflows. The video is an underground Lead and Zinc mine in Iran. Technological and digital innovation are driving best practices in tailings dam management, as highlighted by SRK Consulting. The Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) is pushing the mining industry towards more robust monitoring techniques and advanced data analytics. This data-driven approach ensures greater data visibility, auditability, and cost-efficient project development, providing mining companies with better insights into their risk profiles and enabling informed decision-making. At beadedstream, we are proud to contribute to this transformation with our digital temperature monitoring solutions. Our temperature cables and data loggers provide essential data on ground conditions, enabling mine owners to detect seepage in tailings storage facilities more efficiently and cost-effectively. For tailings dams built on permafrost, our technology offers critical insights into temperature profiles, helping to ensure the stability of frozen foundations amidst a warming climate. Shoutout to SRK Consulting for its leadership in advancing tailings dam safety through digital innovation.
