With a substantial number of offshore/energy service contracts and the vast capacity of this technology, a robust and dependable transmission system will undoubtedly be essential to support these power plants.
The Department of Energy reports that 82 offshore wind energy service contracts have already been awarded and could offer a total capacity of 63.36 GW. READ MORE: https://lnkd.in/gcwm4khb

Total installed wind capacity stands at 906 GW. It is expected that there will be more than 136 GW of new installations per year until 2027. But despite a revised growth rate by GWEC Market Intelligence (YoY growth of 13 percent), the market will achieve 68 percent of the wind power capacity required to stay on track with net zero goals. https://lnkd.in/g_DRMUd5 Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers)

***Offshore Wind Power Cable: Power Connection for Offshore Wind Farms | Shore Connection*** Harnessing the power of offshore wind farms is a game-changer for renewable energy, but transporting that energy to the onshore grid is a critical challenge we face. Did you know both offshore wind farms and onshore grids use AC for production and transmission? The only way to bridge the gap is through cables or wires, with sub-sea power cables being the gold standard for crossing the sea. 🌊🔌 Take a look at the system configuration: offshore wind farms connect seamlessly to the onshore grid through a shore connection cable. But the magic lies in how we transport this energy. Two technologies lead the way: 1️⃣ Alternating Current (AC) 2️⃣ Direct Current (DC) Which do you think holds the most potential for the future of offshore wind energy, AC or DC? And why? ⚡🔋 👇 This post reflects my personal knowledge and is intended for educational purposes only. #projectmanagement #p6planner #offshorewindenergy #HVDCPowercables #BESS #GridCodeComplianceStudies
