When one half of a couple needs nursing home care, it can take an emotional toll on all involved. And when that time comes, families deserve a nursing home team who are partners on the journey of caregiving. Critical to that partnership are communication, trust, and involvement. When one spouse needs nursing home care, it’s not an act of “giving up.” Instead, it’s quite the opposite: it’s providing that loved one the care and quality of life they deserve, through adding quality, qualified bench depth, capability, and capacity. It’s a partnership of compassion. Make sure you find the right partner for that caregiving. If you’re a nursing home resident, participating in a resident council is one of your RIGHTS. It’s also your right to receive a timely response from the nursing home team when your council makes a request or suggestion. Sometimes nursing home teams may require more time to respond to resident requests. If this is an issue in your community, consider using a simple ACTION FORM 📝. The form helps you document a request and your proposed solutions, and it tracks how and whether the nursing home team has responded. 🌟 Test out the Moving Forward Coalition’s sample Action Form here: https://lnkd.in/eGzzPVp6 💡 It’s just one of the fantastic resources in our Strengthening Resident Councils Guide, which you can find at https://lnkd.in/eHAfMjri: https://lnkd.in/eHAfMjri #ResidentCouncils #ResidentsRights #MovingForward #NursingHome
