Our next stop on the NY designer trip with Lane Office: Grey Towers in Milford, PA! Built in 1886 as the Pinchot family's summer estate, it later became the home of Gifford Pinchot, America's first forester and founder of the USDA Forest Service. James Pinchot, a pioneer in conservation, inspired his son Gifford to pursue forestry. Gifford made history by establishing and serving as the first Chief of the US Forest Service and being elected Governor of Pennsylvania twice. Grey Towers was a hub of activity, advancing the Pinchots' social, political, and conservation ideals. In 1963, the family donated Grey Towers and its 102 acres to the US Forest Service.   Our design team left feeling inspired by the greenery and conservation efforts they experienced at Grey Towers and hope to implement what they learned on the tours in their designs at MKDA.  Stay tuned for more from our designer trip! #GreyTowers #Conservation #GiffordPinchot #USForestService #NYDesignerTrip #HistoricalHomes #MKDADesigns
