Used casks Ambassadors for the finest Chateaux and Estates. Premium Casks supplier to the Whisky Industry.
Using a barrel made from juniper wood for the finish of a single malt whisky will impart unique flavors and aromas to the whisky. Juniper wood will add a distinctive herbal and woody character, along with hints of spice and earthiness. This will complement the natural flavors of the whisky, enhancing its complexity and depth. However, since juniper is a potent flavor, the maturation process will need to be carefully monitored to ensure the whisky doesn't become overwhelmed by the juniper notes. Overall, it will result in a distinctive and intriguing whisky profile. Gin makers will also benefit using this very rare wood. Art and cask, have a nice selection of rare Juniper barrels masterpieces, yes we can call these masterpieces as few coopers have our knowledge to make such rarities. Sizes vary depending on the tree. but as a guideline 100 yo 140 litres is about the norm. www.artandcask.com www.artandcask.fr

Whisky Fun Review - Ben Nevis 1999 - SGP:562 - 88 Points Another fantastic review of one of our limited-edition whiskies: These new G&M-style bottles are truly lovely. Excuse me? Yes, it's what's inside that counts. Colour: gold. Nose: slightly less ‘present’ vintages, less idiosyncratic, but with a lovely oiliness, nougat, sesame and sunflower oils, apple, gooseberries, light IPA, a tiny hint of vanilla and cedarwood… With water: new pullovers in a pullover shop and waxed paper. Mouth (neat): full-on lemon juice, herb juice, green bell pepper, then grapefruit zest and a touch of fresh concrete. Melon skin and grape stalk. With water: the waxed paper returns, cedarwood, and even raw wool. Finish: long, somewhat austere, a bit yeasty, ending with notes of ouzo and pastis. Comments: not one of the most classic Ben Nevis, but looks like we're already flying at very high altitude. Get your bottle here >> https://bit.ly/4d6EKl4

🥃 KNOW YOUR BUTTS FROM YOUR BARRELS 🥃 Scotch whisky's journey to maturity is slow and takes years. The secret lies in the barrels used for storage, which come in various sizes but are all made from oak—a legal requirement for Scotch whisky. These barrels impart flavour to the ever-aging spirit, giving it richness, depth, and colour as unique as the wood used. It's common practice to reuse barrels that previously stored drinks like bourbon or sherry, adding yet another set of distinct characteristics to the finished whisky.

The rare whisky economy is a niche market driven by the scarcity and high demand for limited-edition, vintage, and highly sought-after whiskies. These whiskies often fetch high prices at auctions and private sales, with some bottles selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Factors such as age, provenance, brand prestige, and luxurious packaging contribute to their value. Increasingly viewed as alternative investments, rare whiskies face challenges like authentication and market volatility, requiring careful management and expert knowledge. #Liquidgold #Whisky
