Based on wastewater trends, the US is in the midst of a significant COVID-19 wave, with viral activity levels in wastewater the highest they’ve been for a summer surge since July 2022. In its updated guidance, the CDC notes that people who recently had a COVID-19 infection may consider waiting up to 3 months from symptom onset or a positive test to get their updated COVID-19 vaccine.
