🌍Celebrating Social Justice Day with a Commitment to Sustainability and Equality🌍 As we observe Social Justice Day, it's imperative to reflect on the interconnections between social justice, sustainability, and the circular economy. My journey from an International Relations graduate to a Master of Arts in Sustainability and Circular Economy, enriched by over six years of professional experience, has been a testament to the power of integrating social justice with environmental stewardship. At the GAAT Foundation, I've had the privilege of leading initiatives that foster cooperation with businesses and NGOs, championing inclusivity and supporting Trans rights in Colombia and beyond. As we commemorate this Social Justice Day, let's remember that our actions toward sustainability and cooperation are not just about protecting the environment; they're about creating a fair and equitable world for everyone. I am eager to continue contributing to this mission, whether it be through creating impactful outreach campaigns, establishing strategic alliances, or leading projects that foreground inclusivity and sustainability. Let's use our skills, experiences, and passions to drive forward a world where social justice and environmental sustainability are not mutually exclusive but are seen as integral to one another. Let's talk Impact Often, we assume that Impact needs to be a grand gesture driven by business or senior leaders. But that's not the case. Impact can be as simple as bringing something new to a scenario or situation, hopefully positive. We all have something to teach someone else, be it our experience from living through something or our knowledge in a certain subject area. When I set up SheBeasts C.I.C three years ago, I never thought that I would have such a huge impact on so many females. Even more so, I never imagined the impact the 100+ females we have supported would have on me! I am just getting started on impacting more females from backgrounds like my own so that they can impact more females, and together we can create an Impact that is longstanding in our communities. Respect shouldn’t have a rank! Everyone is worthy of it … The cleaner, often working behind the scenes, contributes tirelessly with their hands, heart, and unwavering dedication. Their efforts are the foundation upon which many of our daily comforts and conveniences rest. They teach us the importance of humility, resilience, and the intrinsic value of hard work. On the other hand, the PhD represents the pursuit of knowledge, innovation, and progress. Their deep dives into complex subjects push the boundaries of what we know and understand, paving the way for new discoveries and advancements that benefit all of humanity. While their paths may seem worlds apart, both the caretaker or cleaner and the PhD enrich our lives in invaluable ways. Respecting every individual, regardless of their role, acknowledges our shared humanity and fosters a culture of mutual appreciation.
