It was a week of watching interviews with Sam Altman and Mark Zuckerberg. Here are some notes and thoughts: - In the future, we’ll likely all be using 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀, which will forever change our concept of reality. My great-grandchildren might grow up with mixed reality as their norm. Personally, I prefer glasses or lenses - you can always take them off. - What happens when everyone starts using implants or lenses? Will you feel pressured to do the same? I can't think of anyone in my social circle who doesn’t have a smartphone, so I suspect the global marketing machine will ensure people don’t hesitate. - Sooner or later, just as the web modernized businesses and government services, we’ll reach a point where 𝗔𝗜-𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 become a reality. - One way to control this AI might be to give each citizen a share of it, which could even become a sort of future currency. - The age-old question of who controls the media, and how, will become even more critical with development of AI and such “lenses”. 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁: Meta has a "Community Defense" department with a budget of 5 billion dollars a year. - We're responsible for what we consume and how we spend our time. As things change, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 will be more important than ever. With no shortage of bad news online, it's up to us to manage our emotions and how our days unfold. No company is ultimately responsible for our success or balance in our lives. - The future looks exciting, and Moore’s law is clearly in full swing. If you’ve got some free time, I recommend checking these out: https://lnkd.in/diJ4vFQt and https://lnkd.in/dTDbEF4J --- 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁: books can’t keep up with the pace of technology anymore, so watching entrepreneurs in interviews can be more insightful. --- 🏜️Tip: I usually listen to podcasts at the gym #Future #TechLeaders #Innovation

Helping make real-time, data informed decisions @untrite .are you human host .hankka newsletter .Japanese knives @oishya
Sometimes it feels like nothing is moving at the pace I wish it had (if you have ever worked with a public sector, you know that feeling) and sometimes, like everything is happening everywhere and all at once. Now it's one of those crazy waves. Only in the last couple of days: 💯 We signed a strategic partnership for Untrite with LSE listed corp. (soon I'll be able to reveal more details 🤐) 📈 We welcomed Marcin B. Bauza, Ph.D. to our Strategy Advisory Board - in ZEISS, Victaulic, and his own firm 4MP LLC, he has championed digital transformation yielding >£80M in new revenue streams. 📎 Following UK filling last year, we're filing patents for Kanada and USA for our innovative Untrite AI application in law enforcement. 👂🏼 Yesterday I had a great chat with Yariv Adan on Are You Human podcast (episode out next Thursday, the 23rd!) where we talked about his VC fund Future Fund, AI predictions, opportunities he sees and much more. And thanks to brilliant Sol Rashidi (check her new book: AI Survival Guide!), next week I'm sitting down with Vikram Somaya, ex CDO at PepsiCo for another AYH episode :) I always appreciate such introductions 🥰. 🥋 I'm having my karate exam for a green belt in a couple of days (wish me luck! - when the student is ready, the master appears :) 🇯🇵🔪 We're launching two lines of new Japanese kitchen knives AUS8 and R2/SG2 on Oishya (my side, passion business 🥰) ✏️ And I managed to write a new #hankka newsletter episode - only a bit of polishing is needed, as a Pole, I should be pretty good at it, right? 🧀 And soooo much more smaller stuff that fuels me with joy :) You need to trust the process - keep calm and carry on! 📸: Greenwich, next to Cutty Sark. #innovation #tech #ai #technology #untrite #oishya #motivation

HR Manager | Leveraging AI & Generative AI to Drive Talent Acquisition & Retention | Strategic Leader with Tech-Savvy Insights
In a recent interview reminiscent of a conversation ripped straight from the pages of a science fiction novel, Jeremie Harris and Edouard Harris, co-founders of national security and AI firm Gladstone AI, painted a picture of artificial intelligence on the cusp of a revolution. Their core message? Buckle up, because the potential benefits and risks of AI are about to hit us at breakneck speed. The Harris brothers believe AI is hurtling towards human-level intelligence, a development that promises incredible advancements but also harbors chilling possibilities. Large-scale psychological manipulation and autonomous weapons are just a glimpse into the potential dystopian future they envision. Their biggest concern? Governments, they argue, are woefully unprepared for this impending paradigm shift. At the heart of this impending revolution lies a 2020 breakthrough by OpenAI, which fundamentally changed the game. They achieved this by scaling up AI models – think feeding them with more data and processing power. However, as these models balloon in size and complexity, controlling them becomes a herculean task. This is where Gladstone AI steps in, advocating for stricter regulations and control mechanisms. Licensing AI systems and building robust regulatory frameworks are just two solutions they propose. A glimmer of hope emerges when the interview acknowledges growing awareness within the US government. However, the brothers stress the need for a more proactive approach. They urge for increased public education on the potential pitfalls of AI and the formulation of concrete plans to mitigate them. Jeremie Harris even extends an invitation to his podcast, "Last Week in AI," for those seeking to stay abreast of the latest developments in this rapidly evolving field. This interview serves as a stark reminder of the double-edged sword that AI represents. While the potential for progress is undeniable, the conversation underscores the crucial need for responsible development and proactive risk mitigation strategies. As Edouard Harris himself acknowledges, the true impact of advanced AI is difficult to grasp. However, by fostering open dialogue, encouraging continuous learning, and fostering responsible innovation, we can navigate the uncharted territory of artificial intelligence and ensure it serves humanity, not the other way around. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #GladstoneAI #OpenAI https://lnkd.in/gA2Z5uWZ

Thank you Expleo Group for sharing ‘The Phoenix and The Unicorn’ by Peter Hinssen following the From Hype to Reality: AI & Hyperautomation Summit 2024. First published in January 2020, Hinssen’s teachings were practical for high-growth start-ups and fully established organisations navigating the pandemic. Today, the same lessons in adaptability can be applied to the challenge of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving Fourth Industrial Revolution. If you're not up for reading the whole book, Barry Kibrick's podcast is a great listen. Addressed in the opening dialogue is the need to internally apply the theory of the Phoenix (continual reinvention). Transferring accountability by assuming it is only the ‘business’ that must adapt will have limited results. Arguably, a business is the reflection of the energy its people invest at both individual and collective levels - a theory supported by the football match metaphor c. minute 40. 'Spark your inner Phoenix' with Hinssen's 10 question parting gift: 1. Do you know what your new normals are? - What is your technological foundation? 2. Is your bottom heavier than it should be? - How much are you investing in the sense and try vs. scale and run? 3. How are your reinventing yourself? - Reinvent across products / markets / services / business model 4. What's your "offer you can't refuse"? - Are you really listening to your customers? 5. Are you Batman or Robin? - Be the platform or partner with the platform. 6. What do you smell like? - Culturally is the type of company where you would like your children to work? 7. Do you know what you're doing? - It's okay for innovators not to know what they're doing, that's the process of experimentation. 8. But are you experienced (at learning)? - How are you helping your employees to redefine their knowledge, experience, and skills? 9. Safety first, or last? - Do your people feel safe enough to experiment? 10. Where's the love? - How are you keeping alive passion, purpose and motivation?

Strategy consultant, researcher, and lecturer | Academic Director at LBS Executive Education | Advisor to CEOs and private equity investors | Harvard MBA
GenAI is all but certain to transform the value architecture of many industries, which will create winners and losers. That creates monumental opportunities for thoughtful investors across all asset classes - private equity included. Watch Michael G. Jacobides and me share some perspectives on framing these opportunities and how questions of strategy - to a much greater extent than those of technology - are at their very core. The link to the short video is in the first comment. Thanks again to Florin V. and Eva Negrutzi Dip DigM of the LBS Institute for Entrepreneurship and Private Capital for hosting the excellent conference where this conversation took place.
