Who has an idea to share on ways to get better? I know that we need to leverage social media to the best of our abilities but I like to remember that we need to have face-to-face interactions to be visible and be heard. Maybe that is why I like video calls rather than phone calls. For those people that are too far away to see regularly, it allows me to feel like I connect better with them. The Modern Mortgage and Real Estate Summit was an incredible day of impact and inspiration. We had 13 mortgage professionals plus 5 successful real estate agents, totaling 18 TED Talk keynotes and an entire room of industry change agents. (Not to mention, 4,065 people watched it live virtually.) Given my theme, “Obsessed with Impact,” it meant a lot to be able to educate and deliver value to such an amazing group. I said there what I will say now: That room can/will change the mortgage industry for the better to help consumers achieve the American Dream of homeownership and financial freedom. I also believe that it is a perfect year for the NAR Settlement–the real estate industry is changing for agents, and that’s going to revolutionize mortgages and housing moving forward. For those of you who were part of the summit, whether in person or watching it virtually, the time for action is now. It’s time to put into practice everything you learned to elevate your leadership, improve the advice and education you deliver to home buyers and sellers, and strengthen your teams.
