Today marks my five year anniversary at Ellevest 💛 And while so much life has happened in these past five years, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. The response to my joining of Ellevest five years ago was overwhelmingly positive. Congratulations were also sprinkled with some memorable well-wishes and commentary. Among these, the most ubiquitous sentiment was encouragement to excel in such a specialized, niche space. I often reflect on this notion of "niche". Because to label women as a niche ignores the fact that we make up half of the population. It is to dismiss the reality that women are the driving force behind consumer decisions, which in turn fuels nearly 70% of the United States economy. To classify women as niche is to undermine the staggering $11 trillion in assets under their control in the United States alone. And that's just the present situation. Projections suggest that by 2030, American women will wield decision-making power over a minimum of $30 trillion.   For me, on most days, money is feminine. Thank you to Sallie Krawcheck, Sylvia S.
