CEO, MotivationsAI

If you're hiring a high caliber software engineer this week (or month), know that there are two kinds of top performers. Both of them: - consistently over-deliver - are incredibly fast - know their stuff But one hordes their expertise and the other shares it. One stands out while the other lifts up. One excels while the other helps a team excel. You're rarely looking for the first kind, but you hire it more often than not. Because your hiring questions and strategies don't make this distinction. As a result, you hire a sprinter who wants to win a 100 meter race, when what you needed was someone to run one leg of a relay race. Make sure you're hiring the person who knows they're playing a team sport!
