When covering a management position, you need to get involved at ground level to understand the issues faced above. Nothing like learning an industry from those who do it daily to understand what works and what does not.

🎉 One month at Tennent Caledonian Breweries Ltd. and what a ride it has been! On my second day, I came to work with what I thought was just an allergy—only to find out it was chicken pox! I was so embarrassed to tell my manager. How could I possibly ask for leave or work from home on my 2nd day when I haven't even been trained properly? 😓 But to my surprise, everyone at work was incredibly supportive. My manager immediately sent me home and insisted I take time off to recover. Determined, I managed to work from home starting the very next day, even though I was on antihistamines and low on energy. The support and guidance from my team were exceptional. They went above and beyond with long texts, emails, and video sharing to ensure I didn't miss out on training, all while making sure I wasn't overwhelmed. This incredible support helped me recover quickly, and I was back in the office after two weeks. Working as a credit controller has been deeply enriching, blending the challenges and rewards of managing credit and ensuring financial stability for the organization. I've learned the importance of clear, professional communication, strong analytical skills, and creative problem-solving. Effective negotiations, thorough financial analysis, and efficient time management have been key learnings.
