Storytelling is what I love most.

AI will be the technology that changes everything we do. It's a power tool for the artist and creator. AI will give the individual more creative control and remove the burden of manual labor. Large groups of people will no longer have to build a story or film. The power of this technology is similar to 3D printing. 3D Printing did not replace traditional manufacturing, it accelerated it and made it more efficient. It also expanded the availability of talent. Now anyone with a computer and printer can test their ideas at home. The speed at which this process is completed is fast in comparison to waiting in line for a manufacturer to produce product samples. Weeks faster! Is the quality as good as the one produced the old way? No. It does not matter in the long run because the tool produces better efficiency to market. #venture #tech #angel #3Dprinting #ai

“That was the WORST experience of my life!” These are the words you never want to hear as someone leading a team in any industry, including entertainment & media. 🎥 From my experience as a director, producer and showrunner, I can tell you this: there are many terrible ways to run a set. But no matter what your leadership role on a production might be, here are some behaviors guaranteed to make any situation worse: 👉 Being loud, angry, demanding, or impatient. 👉 Using bad language or offensive words on your cast or crew. 👉 Never being satisfied or recognizing good work... 👉 ...But always criticizing bad work. I remember working on an independent feature film with a director who is very successful today. While they were quite talented, we had a difficult relationship. Picture the stereotypical "angry director" – no clear communication, low frustration threshold, not quite sure what they want. They had a temper tantrum (or two) on set. To be sure, this is a lot less common than you might think, but unfortunately you may run into someone like this one day. As someone who’s worked in a variety of roles on plenty of sets, here’s my advice for running a shoot the right way. 🎬 😅 Stay calm. Explain what’s happening, what you’re thinking, and what you’re expecting. 🤝 Appreciate what people do – and tell them! People like to hear when they’re doing a good job. When working with creatives, telling them what’s working helps them understand your vision and keeps them moving in the right direction. 💡 When things go wrong (and without a doubt they definitely will), don’t freak out! Accept the situation, adapt, improvise --and move on. Whether I’m the director or showrunner, my approach to set management follows three Cs: calm, cool, and communication. The same desire and hobby that make someone a singer, writer, artist, also make someone a doctor, engineer, lawyer, or whatever else. It has been observed that even doctors, engineers, lawyers, or students, while being so, have a desire to perform in singing, writing, stage, film, or television. This primary desire of humans to express themselves and get approval from others is very powerful and persists from the beginning of their life till the end. Those who work as writers, actors, or directors in the fields of writing, stage, television, or film try to satisfy this desire by performing on stage and showcasing their talents. Just as an artist's desire is to perform, a writer's desire is for their work to reach the public. To understand the writer’s thoughts through their writing and present it to the audience is the aim of the artist. However, it is necessary to have a good understanding of the differences in performances across different media such as stage, television, and film. When a writer writes a piece, the script is the medium through which the director, producer, and other technical staff perform their roles. If someone wants to be successful in their profession, it is essential to have a good understanding of the script, and the differences between stage, television, and film. The differences are not just in the names but also in their uses. The common factor among the three is the audience, who witness the performances by the artists and technical members. 15th cup of coffee at three in the morning, a bunch of small talk with the editor who you've met just last week. A concoction of the unnecessary minds of the people who've tagged along to the edit studio. Why are makers so critical of their work some people ask. It’s because they’ve seen the same film, the same scene, the same shot, at least a hundred times. We have seen different variations of it that didn’t even make the final cut. How do filmmakers still want to put their work out there knowing each little flaw that exists in the film? Next time you meet a filmmaker, ask them about the HUGE mistake they made that nobody noticed. It's the journey. The journey that begins and ends on the edit table. The editor, with their conviction and their super power of convincing the director, actually makes sure that the film is watchable. The joy of creating something from scratch. It all shaped me in ways I never imagined. It taught me patience, perseverance, and passion. It showed me the power of collaboration and the magic of creativity. So, when people come to me to talk about my films, I am stunned, why do you even like it? At the 13th minute, didn’t you notice the shadow of the light dada creep out from the bottom of the frame? #editing #patience #passion #perseverance
