So ODONATA is in one of the best spots in the world, and the best in Europe for its business to bring an eVTOL with about 1,000km range and a payload of up to 800 kg to market. The Advanced Air Mobility Institute announced this week a collaboration with the National Association of Italian Municipalities (Anci Toscana) to develop and promote AAM, particular in the #Tuscany region. This partnership will involve joint projects with local #governments, #businesses, #universities, research centres and civil society to advance the adoption of AAM technologies and services. The Parties have committed to a wide range of activities, including the exchange of best practices and information to benefit AAM development in Tuscany. Educational events and online training are planned as part of this collaboration to raise awareness about AAM among various stakeholders and the general public. By working together, the AAM Institute and ANCI Toscana aim to create a better understanding of the Advanced Air Mobility benefits and its potential to transform mobility in #Italy. Good infrastructure concepts are being generated.

Finally a good vertiport idea! Urban spaces need parking so a parking structure makes sense. Vertiports need parking so that makes sense. Needing a parking structure generally means it is a demand capable location. And the BEST PART is that if/when AAM doesn’t “take off” as expected the vertiport can be used by police or medical helicopters or simply converted to more parking. I highly recommend that ALL AAM infrastructure be built with a plan B in mind for the location/structure.

I would recommend some clarity on the different status of the vertiport (international, domestic open to public use or for private use) as defined in ISO 5015-2, related responsibilities of the vertiport operator. and clear distinction between micro-vertiports on one side and docking systems. The development of demand-oriented ground infrastructure is key to enable Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in urban and regional environments. One of the most significant components of this infrastructure are vertiports. These specialised facilities are essential to ensure the safe landing and take-off of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft and to connect AAM services to other transportation modes. In the Air Mobility Initiative project “AMI-FlyingIN2Air”, supported by the German Ministry for Digital and Transport, Airbus together with partners*, has designed and tested a virtual vertiport. This has generated an understanding how ground infrastructure can be integrated smoothly into passenger travel, considering an urban integration context and certification needs. The established concept of an elevated vertiport on top of systemised multi-storey car park is a modular solution, ready to be built. It can easily be adapted to other locations and serves as a building block for the integration of Advanced Air Mobility in very different environments across the globe. eVTOL Insights is super excited to confirm International Civil Aviation Organization, Horizon Aircraft, Wisk, Vports, Jaunt Air Mobility, TE Connectivity, Blueshift, Cert Center Canada, Montréal International and Transport Canada - Transports Canada will be at its first industry conference in Montreal. It will kick off on Wednesday, May 1st with an industry tour at a company based in the city. Timings and a confirmed venue for the tour will be announced in due course. We will then host our usual pre-event networking drinks at a venue in downtown Montreal later that evening. Our conference then takes place the next day, Thursday, May 2nd from 9am — 5pm at the fabulous setting of Le Mount Stephen. The agenda will feature live Q&As, fireside chats, interviews and audience participation about a host of industry topics. Then, for the first time, eVTOL Insights will be hosting its very first Awards Evening. This will take place in a private room with a bar at Le Mount Stephen. We aim to start from 6pm, where there will be canapés before we host the awards ceremony and finish at 7.30pm. Welcome to the Austrian Airlines family, OE-LZR! ❤️ A happy surprise at the end of the year: shortly before New Year's Eve, on 29 December, our fifth #A320neo landed in Vienna. 🛬 Fresh from the Airbus factory, it took off from Toulouse and landed at Flughafen Wien - Vienna Airport at 11:46. The new A320neo will fly in white until receiving its Austrian livery in spring. Depending on the route, the operation of an Airbus #A320neo can reduce up to 3,700 tons of CO2 per year compared to the respective predecessor model, as they consume up to 20 percent less fuel thanks to modern engine technology and improved aerodynamics. Austrian Airlines will be modernizing both its short and medium-haul fleet as well as its long-haul fleet in the coming years. The use of modern and fuel-efficient aircraft is, alongside the use of sustainable aviation fuels, the greatest lever for achieving our ambitious CO2 reduction targets. 🌍
