Munich Airport International’s Post

As part of the #AirMobilityInitiative (AMI), which fosters the development of #AdvancedAirMobility (#AAM) in Bavaria, we were tremendously proud to be hosting last week’s AMI Networking Event at our beautiful homebase Flughafen München. We welcomed many companies, research institutions and municipalities to discuss the latest developments around AAM in the Munich metropolitan area. A tour around Munich Airport, led by our colleague Michael Obermaier, was a perfect start. Afterwards, Dr. Jan-Henrik Andersson, Lorenzo Di Loreto and Juliette Heinzel gave a warm welcome to our guests before handing over to Balkiz Sarihan, Florian Preuss, Jochen A., and Olaf C. Bünck. The renowned experts led the audience through the virtual journey of a passenger who returns from a strenuous business trip from the US to Munich Airport, where he embarks an eVTOL and flies seamlessly to his hometown Ingolstadt. What is still a vision today, may be reality in the near future. To make this dream come true, the members of the Air Mobility Initiative work closely together in several research projects, for instance around vertiport development or airspace integration of eVTOLs. Last weeks’ networking event was a valuable opportunity to share ideas and exchange experiences on this journey. We are looking forward to further collaborating with our partners and shaping the future of air travel together!
