Is re-enacting history more than just playing war? In a world where (digital) media and museums nowadays seem to be the primary sources of historical knowledge, the work of Lise Zurné offers a fresh perspective on how we can experience and understand history. For a report with Trouw, Zurné visited the 277th Volks-Grenadier Division, a re-enactment group that recreates German anti-aircraft units from World War II. She discusses how "playing war" can provide an immersive historical experience and offer a broader perspective on history. Read more about the article on our website. https://lnkd.in/eDVgB6YZ

Great video! You make everyone with prior or current affiliation very proud. My brother, my brother-in-law, and I were all honored to serve. _____ *But let's focus on TODAY: does CIA charter & mission, to constrain foreign threat, allow intervention to protect? Because someone needs to. - Is US Democrat leadership refusal to stop foreign (Russian, Hezbollah, NK, Iran, other terrorist) use of US military GPS - 83% of attacks on the Ukraine & 100% of guided attacks on Israel - "aiding the enemy,' 'weakening of US national defense,' or 'treason?" - Washington is more like a 'war zone' at night now than any other Western capital but Kyiv. DC agencies openly flaunt federal law, give ID & voting rights to illegals. - It is impossible to say the southern border nightmare - 12,000 unchecked vehicles and thugs a day: drugs, violence, weapons, terrorists - is not a 'foreign invasion.' The Constitution forbids support of this under pain of impeachment or death. *Should CIA stop influencers or saboteurs of US Rule of Law -facilitating this invasion- inside the US? NYC is begging the WH to block aliens - for fear of total collapse of NY. * Will Democratics achieve what bin Laden could not - the destruction of the US, starting with NYC?
14 years ago today, the #CIA suffered its second highest casualty event at Forward Operating Base Chapman in Khowst, Afghanistan. A new episode of “The Debrief: Behind the Artifact” highlights CIA Museum exhibits that honor the lives lost that day. #HISTINT #BehindTheArtifact

An armed with exhibition platoon commander can be armed with a rifle, which gives the commander the ability to blend in really well with the team at times (or all the time) and pull back to a commander position when needed. In contrast, a commander armed with a saber (spelled like this in English, when a sabre is associated associated with dance, it's spelled like that) cannot easily blend with the team, especially since spinning a real saber is somewhat dangerous (which is why a marching band color guard sabre needs to be authorized starting yesterday - much safer). What about touching the blade? Is it frowned upon? By some judges, probably. Why? Because they bring their bias with them onto the drill area and don't fully appreciate Scholastic Exhibition Drill. Some judges cannot get past anything outside of the service drill teams. That class of exhibition drill is Ceremonial Exhibition Drill. Both classes are exhibition drill, both have many of the qualities that the public would expect, but the difference is where the teams originate. The service drill teams could never perform some of the moves scholastic teams perform because the style could possibly bring discredit on the unit. Armed with a saber? Touch the blade! Be creative. Realizing the full value proposition of the Civil Affairs 38G Program. The featured cultural heritage repratriation mission occurred in January 2024.
USACAPOC(A) worked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stolen art team, Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Asian Art, NCIS and the U.S. Air Force to repatriate World War II artifacts to the Government of Okinawa. The FBI's stolen art team recovered the artifacts and immediately partnered up to safely secure, crate, escort and transport the articles from the Boston area to Okinawa. #CivilAffairs #38G

On #FlagDay, we reflect on the history of our nation's greatest symbol - the Stars and Stripes. Adopted on this day in 1777 by the Second Continental Congress, our national flag continues to wave as a symbol of freedom, unity, and the enduring spirit of America. 🇺🇸 Learn more about the American Flag from USA TODAY ➡️ https://bit.ly/3KKsAT0
