Social Media Marketing Manager and Consultant | LinkedIn Ghostwriter | 7 years Organic Social Media Management & Strategy for Non-Profits and Women CEOs
It's National Black Business month and I'm looking to support 5 Black women with social media content in the month of August. If you are a coach or consultant who only needs captions created, I want to partner with you in this month. This means you already have graphics, templates, etc and ONLY need copy/captions written. Price would be a fraction of what my monthly retainer prices are (hence researched captions only). Turn around time for 20 pieces would be about 1 week (that's about one caption per week day for 1 month). -Must already have an established service, offer, or program, etc (meaning you're not in the testing stages, etc) -Clarity on who your target audience is and can communicate that to me (with such a quick turnaround I won't have time to figure that out for you) Content will be written for one platform of your choice (FB, IG, or LI) however, you are free to utilize it wherever it may apply. I'll create a mix of short and long form content that can be applied for either static posts or videos. (This will be your preference and will be noted in your intake form). DM me if this sounds like something you'd benefit from. Closing this offer on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. LinkedIn fam do me a favor and tag your favorite coach or consultant. I can only take on 5 women. Super excited to offer this before I get busy with other projects in Sept! Let's go! 🚀 #nationalblackbusinessmonth

🦄 The Millennial CEO 🤓 Multicultural Branding & Marketing Unicorn 💻 Fractional CMO 👩🏽🏫 Goldman Sachs 10KSB Alum
As we gear up for Juneteenth, I can't help but feel extra proud of the work we do at Chroma Creators, especially when it involves empowering Black women-led organizations like the Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI). 🌟 Working with BWHI They've been champions for the health and wellness of Black women and girls for over 30 years. When they came to us, they were looking to freshen up their look to keep up with the vibrant and ever-evolving energy of their audience, spanning ages 25 to 45. 🎨 The Challenge and Our Approach They told us straight up—their old branding didn't reflect the dynamic spirit they had. They were ready for a major change, something that would scream Black Girl Magic. What we created together was a complete visual identity that was as lively and bold as the women they represent. 💬 Why This Matters Doing this kind of work, helping shape how Black women see themselves in the health space, it’s close to my heart. These projects aren’t just another notch on our portfolio. They’re personal. They’re about lifting up our community and making sure our voices are heard and seen. With #Juneteenth just around the corner, it's a reminder of how essential our voices are in crafting the stories that are told about us, by us. And I’m here for it all—creating spaces that celebrate and push us forward. Here’s to more projects where we can bring our whole selves to the table and make a real impact 🖤✊🏾 #blackowned #womenowned #multiculturalmarketing #ChromaCreators

POV: Creating what you want to see in the world. I’ve always been interested in working in the Marketing & Creative industry, but everytime I looked through agency websites, I struggled to find teams/people who looked like me. 12 months ago I thought, why not create yours? Hence WAI Agency @weareinganchi was born. Let's talk numbers: In advertising, PR, and marketing, black women are severely underrepresented. Out of 8,734 executives, a mere 93 are black women. That's just over 1%—an not so great statistic fueled by a lack of engagement and diversity in the workplace. We are re-writing the script. At WAI, diversity isn't a buzzword; it's part of our driving values. We're assembling a squad of professionals from all walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures because expertise knows no bounds. It’s been an amazing journey, serving multiple clients in the last year with the dream team. We finally got round to doing a team shoot and I couldn’t be more proud to work with these incredible women! Together, we're not just breaking barriers; we're building bridges to a brighter, more inclusive future. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽 #WAIForChange #DiversityInAction

Reflecting on the article about Regina Lawless, her journey and experiences resonated deeply with me, prompting a reevaluation of my own professional and personal life. At the age of 40, Lawless achieved a significant milestone by becoming Instagram's first director of diversity and inclusion. However, her husband's sudden death in 2021 led her to question the balance between her career and personal life, a struggle familiar to many Black and Brown women in the corporate world. 😥 Lawless's realisation that true inclusion requires commitment from all levels of leadership and every employee is a powerful 💪 reminder of the collective responsibility we hold in fostering inclusive workplaces. Her venture: Bossy and Blissful, is an inspiring initiative that supports Black female executives in navigating the unique challenges they face, such as misogynoir and the isolation of being the "Onlys" in their organisations. Reading about the struggles of women like Lawless and others in her collective highlights the pervasive issues of racial and gender discrimination in corporate environments. The backlash against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEIB) efforts, coupled with the underrepresentation of Black and Brown women in senior leadership roles, underscores the harsh reality that excellence alone often isn't enough for Black and Brown women to secure and retain top positions. Lawless's departure from Instagram and her prediction that more Black women will pivot to entrepreneurship reflect a growing trend. 📈 The declining job openings for diversity officers and the reduced venture capital funding for Black and Brown women-owned businesses indicate a troubling retreat from DEIB commitments. As I reflect on these narratives, I am reminded of the importance of support networks. The shared experiences and solidarity among Black women and Brown women, 🤝 whether through professional groups or personal circles, provide crucial emotional and psychological support. This sense of community is vital as we navigate the dual challenges of racism and sexism in the workplace. Ultimately, Lawless's story and those of other Black women in the article inspire a call to action. We must continue to advocate for genuine inclusivity and equity, not only for ourselves but for future generations. By creating and supporting spaces where Black women can thrive, we can challenge the status quo and pave the way for a more inclusive and just corporate landscape. I help executive women of color do the impossible | featured in Forbes | 15+ years in tech | former Fortune 200 director | MBA, CPCC, PCC
When I first sat down to pull together insights from conversations with 22 executive women of color, I thought I’d write a sterile summary of findings, similar to a market research report. I stopped myself short. Why? As I started to plan for that “report”, I found myself sanitizing the raw and the real. Many of the interviewees told me about how they quieted aspects of themselves in order to be heard at work. I used to do that myself sometimes… …and I was about to do the same thing here. I stopped myself short because I realized: THIS is how ingrained it is in me to cater my words for a dominant group, to edit myself for an “audience in power”. THAT is why I made the 22 executive women of color my audience for the article. I knew that if I made them my focus, I wasn’t going to concern myself with anyone’s opinion but theirs. The other day, someone referred to the article as liberating. I guess I didn’t expect when I started to write it, that it was going to liberate me, too. When you catch yourself second-guessing, or self-editing, take a pause and ask yourself: → Who am I taking X action for? → What am I taking X action for? → Where am I going to put my focus to allow myself to take that action authentically? Please click on the link in the comments to access the article. Can’t wait for you to add your voice to the conversation. ♻ Please like, comment, share with others who will benefit.

Employees should be able to show up as their authentic selves and share their unique perspectives at work. We loved this recent piece from Sydney Tukes at Citizen Relations on the importance of hair, identity, and representation. Some tips for employers and managers looking to create a more supportive workplace for Black / African American employees: 1️⃣ Hire diverse talent-- there's no substitute for lived experience 2️⃣ Build psychological safety-- support a listening-oriented culture 3️⃣ Support the CROWN Act: help end hair discrimination #deib #blackhistorymonth #humanresourcesmanagement #crownact
"We don’t hear or see enough stories about BIPOC women working in sports PR." Sydney Tukes, Account Supervisor, realized the power and indispensable perspective she brings to PR early in her career. She shares what that defining moment was and how her natural hair, as a Black woman, shapes her identity. Read her story here: https://lnkd.in/d_F3ETbT
