Recent Trends in Community Health Center Patients, Services, and Financing: Community health centers are a national network of over 1,300 safety-net primary care providers, serving more than 30 million patients in 2022. They are located in medically underserved urban and rural communities and serve all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Health centers also played a major role in the nation’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, particularly for hard-to-reach populations. This brief analyzes the changes in health center patients, services, and financing from 2019 (pre-pandemic) through 2022, using the Uniform Data System (UDS), to which all health centers are required to report annually. #medicaid #mdrp #financial

NACHC appreciates that Congress included a temporary extension of mandatory funding for Community Health Centers and primary care workforce programs in the new Continuing Resolution (CR) preventing a government shutdown until March 8. The Senate is expected to vote on the new CR soon. Health center patients and providers urge Congress to pass a long-term extension of health center funding at the highest possible level as soon as possible to help close the gap in access to primary care. #PrimaryCare #HealthCenters #HealthEquity

In a new study from Humana Healthcare Research, our researchers found that patients of senior-focused primary care clinics had more visits with their primary care doctor. These effects were even greater among Black and low-income Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. This weekend I was reading the Romanow Royal Commission on the Future of Healthcare Final Report from 2002 (yeah, I really should get out more 😉 ) and there were areas/passages -- and submissions from stakeholders -- talking about #interdisciplinary #healthcare teams, the #ageingpopulation, and more #patients who would have #complexcare needs. Then I read stories like this two decades later? #cdnhealth #cdnpoli https://lnkd.in/e6WZC7WK
