🌟 Careers Uncovered: Health and Care – Project Update 🌟 Our project has now delivered nearly 20 different meaningful experiences of health and care careers for young people in South London. These activities range from workplace visits to careers talks, and even a careers fair. 🎉 We now have enough feedback to share an update on how our project is creating impact for young people in South London. We’re delighted that young people have enjoyed learning directly from employers, which is reflected in the stats on their learning. 📊 ✅ 79% of young people rated their experience on our project as “Excellent”. ✅ 95% rated their learning from professionals as “Good” or “Excellent”. Before the activity, 0 students rated their knowledge of Health and Care careers as “Excellent”. After the activity, we’re happy to report that 58% of students rated their knowledge as “Excellent”, with a further 37% rating their knowledge as “Good”. 100% of students reported that their knowledge of Health and Care careers had increased. 🌟 Our goal is not only to increase awareness of health and care careers but to create meaningful experiences of the world of work. We’re thrilled that the qualitative feedback we’ve received also shows progress is being made on this target. 📈 “I learned a lot about new career types, and different careers through the years.” “I've always wanted to work in health and care, and this has pushed me more.” “Health and Care careers are really detailed and sound interesting.” We’re very happy with the early successes of the project, and you can expect further updates soon. However, we are now focused on driving forward more activities before our project ends in March 2025. 🚀 To achieve this, we need the continued support of schools and local business leaders. If you’ve not already signed up to be a part of our project, please don’t delay! Email SLCHhealthandcare@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk and join us in making a difference for young people in South London. 🤝 #HealthCareers #SouthLondon #CareerAwareness

#AD Is your future dictated by your parents' profession and income? 🤔 It shouldn't be — yet in the UK, the lack of social mobility often makes it a reality. Last week I was invited by Co-op to attend a careers fair with a difference… 👩🏫 Careers Unfair showcased Co-op’s deep dive into social mobility in the workplace. Alongside think tank Demos they’ve produced a report & recommendations to look at what social mobility truly means, why improvements are crucial for our workplaces and the broader economy & meaningful steps businesses can make towards change. How have you seen social mobility play out positively in the workplace? Is this something that’s on your radar at work? Full report from Co-op linked in my comments. #socialmobility #inclusion #diversity #socialclass #careertiktok #career

I know many of us in the careers sector are on our knees right now. Heading towards the end of term and utterly exhausted. So it's time to book something for us for a change, something to look forward to, to relax, party, celebrate amazing YOU and learn from careers legends. Yes, back by popular demand is the Careers in Careers Celebration Festival, this year called #CareersFest2024!!! Last year we had 250 of you amazing careers people join us online for a careers community and learning event and the atmosphere was electric! It is open to anyone who works in any part of careers, from Careers Leaders and Advisers working with young people to those working with adults or doing other vital roles like creating content or working in careers tech. This year we're back with: 🔥 The theme of longevity; for us as a sector and for supporting our clients with their career management skills. There are even more great sessions about topics including protecting the wellbeing of you and your clients, creating exciting and engaging content, using inclusive language and looking at how 'careers' is viewed in other countries. 🔥 We've got legends like Ladi Mohammed-Chapman, Liane Hambly, Chris Webb, Carolyn Parry, Debbie Dymock, Rish Baruah, Danny Mirza and many more! 🔥 And I'll be hosting, live from the UCAS studio!! 🔥AND there are 6 awards up for grabs - nominate yourself or someone else. Tickets are just £30, purely to help me try and cover some of my costs. I see this as a community event for the amazing careers community. To find out more and buy a ticket, check out our new website which also has lots of information for anyone looking to move into or around the careers sector - think of it like 'get into teaching' but for careers, with signposts to great resources and info from The CDI and others, and adding further info too: https://lnkd.in/eUTcrrWp
