New performance audit report: Design and Early Implementation of the National Soil Strategy Why did we do this audit? * The National Soil Strategy (the strategy) was released in May 2021 and sets out a 20-year national vision to recognise, better understand and sustainably manage soil as a key national asset. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is the Australian Government entity leading the design and implementation of the strategy. * This audit examined the effectiveness of the design and early implementation of the strategy and the supporting National Soil Action Plan (national action plan).

Variety is the spice of life as the popular saying goes. Fish Value chain is an embodiment of varieties that spice up your delicacies. There are different species of fishes from Fresh, Marine and Estuary of the world's water bodies. Each species comes with its own unique taste either eaten fresh or processed into any form. The form which a processed fish takes is dependent on different factors ranging from: * The fish species itself * The customers' choices/demands * Methods employed in processing and preservation * Facilities/ equipment used * Expertise to mention but a few. As a fish processor, I would like to introduce you to some common Stock Keeping Units (S.K.U.) mostly acceptable in Nigeria and beyond; 1. Folded whole fish 2. Fish chunks (steak) 3. Fish fillets 4. Fish crumbs 5. Fish Powder and some other inevitable by products. In our next series, we shall proceed with how to process fish into the aforementioned SKUs. Meanwhile, watch the video below to learn more about fish Processing. Feel free to include other SKUs obtainable in your areas/regions under the comment section. #Aqua I don't own this video. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS #IPM? Integrated Pest Management is a scientifically sound approach to pest management, developed first in the agricultural market to cope with their pests in the 1960s, it was later translated to the urban aspect. Integrated, integrating what? Cultural, mechanical, biological, chemical, and statistical approaches to control pest populations. It is supposed to be ''green'', harmless, focused on prevention rather than reaction, bla bla bla. For real, what is it? How can a new tech in the pest management industry learn IPM, when most books about it only cover a small portion of it, in most cases, with little to no deep diving? Real IPM has been delegated to Agricultural engineers, Entomologists, and people in high positions in companies, who don't necessarily go out on the field as often as they should. In my experience as an Urban Pest control operator trying to learn IPM, I've noticed there is an ENORMOUS lack of resources for new technicians (or even old ones). We are not taught to analyze, evaluate, learn, or read actual scientific papers, information resources, independent parties, and proper biology. Yet, the industry pushes the standard of doing ''IPM'' into these techs Just learning IPM for german cockroaches can take more than 50 hours, Ants, 30 hours, Rodents, 40 hours, and so on. Things like #APM or #Risk-asessment pest management are part of #IPM, yet they are so popular and ''new'', when in fact they shouldn't be. It's just a reflection of our lack of knowledge of #REAL IPM. At least in the EEUU, we are accustomed to private CEU classes, usually given with some commercial interests from the latest products, but little interest on actual non-CEU classes. How can one grow in a room where everybody thinks the same? I've come to you with this proposal, try synthesizing what in your words is IPM, and choose a specific pest in a specific industry, like if you were to teach a class about it. Share it with professionals, you can find plenty in this network, do posts about it and be open to grow/change your perspective. On my end, I'll be posting weekly small sections of IPM for german cockroaches in residential settings but will try to avoid doing what everyone posts. I like what's different, things that can make me grow and have more control during my services, don't you? #pestcontrol #pestmanagement #cockroaches #entomology #biology #ipm #newyork

Strategic Environmental Trainer, Keynote Speaker, BHAG Wrangler, helping government, business & professional bodies bridge the environmental skills gap at scale & pace. It's all about Learning for Life on Earth.
I wanted to make the second edition of my book as tightly focused as possible on information that would directly support the readers to deliver great training. Because I'd learned so much since the first edition, I'd added lots of new information, and this meant cutting out lots, too! In the interests of safeguarding the history of Auckland's erosion and sediment control training program, I decided to put some of this culled data into free ebooks that accompany the main book - so here's the first! The title suggested itself, because no-one was more surprised than we were by the program's success! With hindsight, the program roll-out could easily look effortlessly planned to the nth degree - but nothing could be further than the truth! With input from the development industry, researchers and many others, Graeme Ridley and the team produced the comprehensive #TP90 guideline that far outstripped anything we'd had before, but it seemed that as soon as it looked like the training could start, something else needed to be put in place beforehand. It was documenting this journey of discovery and, alongside Brian Handyside, co-delivering the training, that helped me come up with the Success Framework set out in the ebook below and detailed in the 2nd edition of the 2nd edition of the print book. So here in just 14 pages is the history of the evolution of a successful environmental training program! And here is the 57-second video that goes with it! https://lnkd.in/g7Dt8Kvj
