One of Queensland’s cutest animals, the greater glider will soon have more room to soar with the announcement of a new Greater Glider Forest Park 🌿 The Queensland Government has established the park to protect vital habitats of the greater glider, Australia’s largest gliding possum, which was listed as endangered in 2022.  The new park will encompass 54,000 hectares of protected land, forming part of a broader commitment to expand Queensland’s protected areas. With many greater gliders calling Queensland home, this park represents an important step in protecting their essential habitats and ensuring the survival of this species. At the #Telstra Business for Nature Action Symposium with a host of movers and shakers 💙. Our panel session was one of a series of exciting panel discussions held throughout the day, together with a line up of presentations from industry leaders, Nature Tech exhibits and break outs on technical topics. The day was all about bringing together a host of leaders to look at how to support Australia’s nature strategy and enable better outcomes for the environments and communities in which we operate. The Telstra Symposium was staged a few days after the international Global #NaturePositiveSummit in Sydney earlier this week. Also representing Healthy Land & Water and ENVestor at the Telstra summit were Mark Waud, Pat L. and Paul Dennis. Thanks for a great event Telstra!

I am feeling so buoyed after an incredible 2 days at the Global Nature Positive Summit. It was an honour to represent Healthy Land & Water and NRM Regions Australia on the panel discussion “Integrated Landscape Management for a Sustainable Future”. Healthy Land & Water are thrilled to join a network of leaders to drive Nature Positive Matters, launched by The Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, Australia’s Minister for the Environment and Water, at the Summit. We look forward to working with the other nature positive champions to drive private investment in nature repair. #LandscapeManagement #SustainableGrowth #GlobalNaturePositiveSummit #NaturePositiveMatters
