We’re thrilled to announce that Makutu have been named as a finalist in the "Data for Good Consulting Initiative of the Year" at the prestigious British Data Awards 2024.   This recognition highlights Makutu’s dedication to data and innovation to support positive environmental outcomes, through the World’s First, Kingfisher initiative.   Delivering innovative technology alongside NWG (Northumbrian Water Group) and in partnership with Skyports Drone Services, RS Hydro & Microsoft, Kingfisher pioneers the routine, real time, semi-autonomous collection of large scale environmental data from a UAV; operating beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS), allowing for green, dynamic, safe, low cost data acquisition.   Why does this matter? Understanding the ecology of our water courses through high quality, comprehensive, contextualised data leads to a better understanding as to what is happening in our rivers, lakes and coastal waters. This in turn leads to better management of these watercourse and enhanced environmental stewardship.   We're thrilled about this recognition, a testament to the incredible contribution from the Makutu team, all of our dedicated highly capable partners and the desire from industry and regulators to make a positive difference.
