We recently went live with a new Terminal Operating System at Tanzania East Africa Gateway Terminal Limited in partnership with Navis. I am proud to have been a key part of the implementation, both from a strategic and an execution point of view. The successful deployment of the Terminal Operating System has not only improved operational efficiency but also laid a solid foundation for future projects. The migration was smoothly achieved, and in the process, helped me grow personally and professionally, helping in honing and showcasing the key characteristics required in such a major project implementation. For such a key strategic project to be smooth and successful, the following are critical: 1. Collaboration is Key: Engaging with team members and seeking diverse perspectives was critical to ensuring that the system was robust. 2. Attention to Detail: Implementing a TOS required precision, especially when it came to system performance and security. Every process mattered, and thorough testing and iterative improvements are required to ensure you achieve the desired outcome. 3. Problem-Solving Under Pressure: Challenges inevitably arise, from unforeseen bugs to unexpected shifts in requirements. Adapting quickly, prioritization of tasks, and focusing under pressure is the only way to move forward. 4. Resilience and Persistence: As a runner, you are advised in your trainings that slow is fast. I experienced the same here. Slow movement is still movement. Not everything will move at break-neck speed. Be patient, resilient and persist. Determination is the only way to move forward, and setbacks are an opportunity to refine your approach and come back stronger. This project was more than just a professional achievement—it was a personal triumph. I’m proud of the growth, lessons, and impact created through this work. Excited to take on the next challenge with the same passion and commitment!

In the spotlight: Côte d'Ivoire By 2016 the country's capital, Abidjan, faced major traffic congestion which affected its economy. Harith led the charge to #InvestInAfrica, working with Socoprim and the Ivorian government to conclude a 30-year concession for the construction and operation of the Henri Konan Bédié bridge. Not only did the project create hundreds of jobs during its construction phase, the bridge formed a crucial link between the districts of Riviera and Marcory. Today, it saves residents and industries hours previously spent in traffic, contributing to ease of movement of people and goods, improving trade, while also lessening emissions by reducing distances and traffic congestion. US EXPLORING EXPANDING THE #LOBITOCORRIDOR TO #TANZANIA 🚂 In addition to refurbishing existing lines, the project envisions adding 1,300 kilometers of railway from Zambia to Tanzania. The project is slated to be finished by 2029. 🗣 “Special Coordinator Helaina Matza will review her travel to the DRC and Tanzania, including opportunities to expand the Lobito Corridor focus on the DRC and integrate Tanzania with the Lobito Corridor investments” 🗣 "..but it’s working on the connection between Kabanga and Kahama, and working how to develop a special economic zone that not only creates opportunities for processing here in country – the nickel products coming out – but hopefully more feedstock from other parts of the country and the region, while investing at the same time in training of local Tanzanians to participate in every part of the value chain of that industry. " 🗣 "But now we’re ready for phase three, and that includes deepening our engagement in DRC, expanding those economic benefits to Tanzania, and then thinking about, beyond the rail, what sectors, as I mentioned in my opening remarks, we can offer the best opportunities for our support as they reflect the development growth needs and desires of the countries we’re working in." Happy Monday everyone! 🌟 Here's a fantastic snapshot of Edward Ezekiel in action, conducting fieldwork for the exciting new railway line project in Angola. At RSK Africa, we're proud to be at the forefront of providing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) services for rail projects across Tanzania and Angola. 🚄 These studies are not just about laying tracks; they're about shaping Africa's transport landscape, connecting urban centers with rural areas and fostering cross-border connectivity between nations. However, in our journey towards progress, it's vital that we prioritize responsible development by carefully accounting for environmental and social impacts. 🌍 #ESIA #RailwayProjects #SustainableDevelopment #AfricaMobility
