Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)’s Post

🗣📣 More #NAVSEANews on deck! One of the US Navy’s newest attack submarines, the future USS IDAHO (SSN 799), recently launched into the Thames River from General Dynamics Electric Boat’s shipyard in Groton, Conn. As a Virginia-class fast attack submarine with enhanced stealth, sophisticated surveillance capabilities, and special warfare enhancements, IDAHO will provide the Navy with the capabilities required to maintain the nation’s undersea supremacy well into the 21st century. Awesome! NOW they just need to retrofit all their ships/subs with my Seal Genie® LIFETIME seals and stop wasting tax payer dollars and time with the 1950's era red rubber seals they still use. Back in my day in the service we called those wasteful practices FRAUD, WASTE & ABUSE. You want modern? Get out of the 1950's! Want to hide your whole sub from sonar? We have that too. Highest bidder WINS! 😎

Great work! I remember in 2013 - the launch of SSN-784, USS North Dakota! Those of us up here in North Dakota were joking this unit would serve in the frozen Arctic Ocean, and like most vehicles in N.D., this SSN probably has an engine block heater cord hanging out the front radiator somewhere...

proud to protect her, her crew and EB employees and contractors!
