#TeachableTuesday 👨👩👧👦 How Parents Can Help Kids During Back-to-School Season Starting the conversation about back-to-school stress can be tough, but it’s an important step in supporting your child’s mental health. Here are some specific things you can say to help your child open up about their feelings: ‘How are you feeling about going back to school?’ ‘It’s okay if going back to school feels hard this year. It would be hard for me too.’ ‘What feels hard about going back to school? What feels exciting? It’s normal to have different feelings about the same thing.’ ‘I noticed you haven’t liked talking about going back to school. That’s okay. If you want to talk about it, I’m here.’ ‘It’s okay to ask for help, and you can always ask me.’ Remember, adapting these questions to your child’s age and personality can make them even more effective. Starting these conversations early can make the transition back to school smoother for everyone.
