It's critical for Brands not only to have a presence but also to ensure it reflects an engaged, authentic community. Signals like who's talking, what they're saying, and how you're responding publicly across various platforms are crucial. โฐ Social platforms are also where Gen Z spends an average of 3-4 hours daily! (Statista) โ€“ the vast majority (and growing) of this time being in DMs, not on feeds or other surfaces where ads traditionally live. If you don't have a game plan to stay on top of and engage with your fans creatively 1:1 on social channels, you're missing out. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Meta is the biggest social commerce player in terms of buyers, but TikTok has more users who are buyers. At least 40% of TikTokers are projected to make a purchase on the platform this year. The next challenge for brands is to turn these buyers into loyal, repeat customers. TikTok subsidizing helps pump up the platform but also leads to volatility in sales, even in categories like Beauty. ๐ŸŒฑ Amanda Schutzbank of Willow Growth Partners shared that the brands they've observed growing the most quickly have tapped into building communities, often leveraging social platforms to supercharge their growth.
