Unpacking the intricacies of negotiation: Drawing from her wealth of experience, 🌟 Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Meta, sheds light on the pervasive biases women face in the negotiation arena. Consider this: A woman advocating for a raise may be labelled as 'pushy,' while a man exhibiting the same behaviour is deemed 'assertive. Sandberg's insight challenges us to recognize and harness these biases strategically. Take, for instance, a scenario where a woman leverages empathy and collaboration in negotiations. Rather than viewing these traits as weaknesses, she transforms them into powerful tools for consensus-building and relationship-building. 🤝 It's about reframing the narrative and embracing negotiation styles that authentically align with women's strengths. Sandberg's words inspire a call to action for women everywhere to reclaim their seats at the table and rewrite the rules of negotiation. Let's seize this opportunity to create a more inclusive and equitable future. 💼💡 #negotigal #negotiation #womeninbusiness #womenentrepreneurs #womenempowerment #girlboss #womensupportingwomen #womeninleadership #femalefounder #leadership #successstories

🌟 Reflecting on International Women's Day 🌟 This special day made me think back to my holiday read - Sheryl Sandberg’s "Lean In." The insights from this book are not just enlightening but transformative. Here are some impactful takeaways: 1️⃣ Feedback from Mark Zuckerberg: He pointed out to Sandberg that her need to be liked by everyone needs to change. True progress means you can't please everyone. 2️⃣ Lori Goler's Unique Approach to Applying at Facebook: Instead of listing her skills, she asked, "What is your biggest problem, and how can I solve it?" This mindset shift from self to service led her to become the Head of People at Meta 3️⃣ Battling Impostor Syndrome: Sandberg discusses how both men and women experience impostor syndrome, but women often feel it more intensely. The key? Challenge those feelings, remember your achievements, and embrace a "fake it till you make it" attitude. 4️⃣ Academic Achievement vs. Career Progression: Despite women outperforming men academically, this success hasn't translated into equal representation in leadership roles. This is due to a culture that often discourages risk-taking and self-advocacy in women. She emphasises how workplace can present a double-bind for women: “If a woman is competent, she does not seem nice enough. If a woman seems really nice, she is considered more nice than competent. Since people want to hire and promote those who are both competent and nice, this creates a stumbling block for women.” Each of these takeaways offers a lens through which we can view our own careers and the changes we need to make, not just for ourselves but for women everywhere. Let's lean in together, challenge the status quo, and pave the way for future generations of women leaders. 💪📚 #InternationalWomensDay #LeanIn #WomenInLeadership #CareerDevelopment #Empowerment

Sales Manager @Meta | People Leader | Mentor | Speaker | Digital Transformation & Change Management | Sales & Marketing
🌟 Empowered women empower women 🌟 Today's International Women's Day provides the perfect opportunity to reflect. In my journey in tech, sales and leadership I have had the privilege to be surrounded by many incredibly talented women and committed male allies. I am immensely proud to be part of the Meta DACH MidMarket Leadership team, that consists of 100% female leaders: 5 women, from 5 different countries, with countless of various strengths, setting a prime example for female leadership in tech: Martina Gallova, Rebecca Hindle, Kate Boogaerts and Deborah Gorman - I am enormously grateful to work with you in a company that lives diversity, equity and inclusion every day and where leadership exemplifies excellence and inclusivity. Let's celebrate the power of women in leadership, tech and sales with some facts: 👩💼 Leadership: Companies with higher levels of female leadership achieve a 21% higher profitability compared to those with lower levels of female leadership. 💻 Tech: Women represent only about 30% of tech workforces globally. 📈 Sales: Gender-diverse sales teams achieve 33% higher sales revenue. I do not take for granted all the support I have received, and sometimes it's important to pause and acknowledge these experiences, reminding ourselves that the journey to equality is ongoing. We still have a long way to go. Let's keep striving for a future where gender doesn't determine opportunities 💪 Here's to all the trailblazers, the innovators and the leaders who inspire us all. Happy International Women's Day 🌷 #IWD2024 #FemaleLeadership #GenderEquality #Diversity #Inclusion #EqualityInWorkplace

Creativity is a force that's powerful yet mystical, fun yet anxiety-inducing, inspiring yet scary, and utterly free. It's something you can't force or command; it requires being open and ready to embrace it as it comes. Creativity and futures thinking are deeply connected, each fueling the other. Today marks International Women's Day when we celebrate a vision for the world that mirrors the essence of creativity: free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that champions diversity, equity, and inclusivity, where differences are not just accepted but celebrated. Recognising and valuing our differences is essential, not just for a better world, but also for unlocking creativity and envisioning future possibilities. Good to remember that everyone is creative. You can nurture your creative muscles by engaging with different forms of art—whether that's reading, watching movies, or creating art yourself. Enjoyment is a crucial part of letting your creativity run free. Have a nice friday and enjoy your weekend! Vivian White Oy #creativity #curiosity #futures

🌟 You Can’t Be What You Can’t See 🌟 Today, representation matters more than ever. Despite being nearly half of the global workforce, women remain underrepresented in leadership, holding just 29% of senior management roles and 8% of Fortune 500 CEO positions. When women step into the spotlight, they provide visibility and inspiration to others who might feel unsure about their own paths. Here are a few reasons why sharing our journeys is so important: 1️⃣ Inspiration: Hearing other women’s challenges and triumphs can spark potential in those who don’t yet see their own. Your story might be the motivation someone needs to chase their dreams! ✨ 2️⃣ Breaking Barriers: Successful women challenge stereotypes and show it’s possible to be both successful and a mother, or hold multiple roles. We're defined by the richness of our experiences, not just one title. 💪 3️⃣ Diverse Perspectives: Every story is unique. Sharing our diverse experiences enriches the conversation around women in leadership and broadens the understanding of what success can look like. 🌟 4️⃣ Empowerment: When women see themselves represented, it empowers them to aspire to those roles. We must encourage women to dream big and show they can thrive while holding multiple roles. 🌱 Let’s lift each other up and celebrate our successes! 🙌 #FemaleEmpowerment #Visibility #FemaleRolemodels

Since there's a lot of new people in my network... ... I thought I would reintroduce myself. 👋 My name is Ludo Gabriele. I am a leadership advisor and a masculinity expert. I help organizations connect men to gender equity, effectively. --- Promoting healthy masculinity has been my life’s work for the past decade. In 2017, I created one of the most disruptive masculinity blog of the #metoo era: wokedaddy. I rebranded and represented the MARC By Catalyst initiative (Men Advocating Real Change) from 2019 to 2023. I led the creation and production of two global events on masculinity in the workplace: The MARC Summit in 2020 & Real Change with MARC in 2022. Then I got laid off. 💔 --- In 2024, I founded Humen Leaders, an advisory practice focused on humanizing narratives about boys and men. Men and #DEI find themselves at a crossroads, facing a dilemma where inclusion efforts simultaneously call for their engagement and perpetuate their vilification. DEI and men are in crisis: one of the keys is to truly come together. Our time calls for going far beyond simplistic notions of #maleprivilege and surface-level #allyship. An holistic approach is critical : men should be beneficiaries of gender equity too. I speak, train and advise HR leaders who align with this diagnostic. Let’s close the #empathy gap, together. Inclusion means everyone. If this resonates with you, let's chat! Book a free consultation: https://lnkd.in/eKRruseJ I am accepting engagements for #InternationalMensDay

I often get asked, “What am I truly proud of?” My answer: That 65% of my team members are women representing 8 different countries. Here's why: Female representation in the workplace isn’t just a metric; it's a catalyst for innovation, creativity, and resilience. I truly believe that when women thrive, businesses soar by listening to perspectives that challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change. I’ve been in environments with a lack of females, and the impact is huge. But I read a McKinsey report recently which paints a mixed picture: • Women in the C-suite has increased, reaching 28% from 17% in 2015 • But representation in the middle ranks has grown by mere single digits Women, particularly those of color, face an uphill battle and a promotion gap that widens with each managerial tier. For every 100 men promoted from entry level to manager, 87 women were promoted - it’s down to 73 for women of color. My thoughts circle back to my own company. I reflect on our team: a mosaic of women who bring their culture, experience, and wisdom from across the globe. This isn't a happenstance; it's a deliberate stride towards a future where every woman's voice is not just heard but also valued. Here, we're not just filling seats; we're offering a table where diverse women lead, innovate, and mentor. In my journey, I've seen firsthand the hurdles that come with being a woman, an immigrant, and an entrepreneur with a dream in a foreign land. I know those difficulties and triumphs. I still struggle with them today. And so every day, I try to ensure that every woman, irrespective of her background, is given the tools to ascend, lead, and blaze new trails. I’m far from perfect and we still have a long way to go. But with grit, open-minds, and collective resilience, we can overcome and we can ascend. Join me as we help to redefine what leadership looks like in the 21st century. Thanks for reading! If you found this post helpful, repost ♻️ to share this with your network. In the early days of my career, the sight of a woman in a tech leadership role was as rare as finding a unicorn. But today, I stand among a growing cadre of women who are not just participating in the tech industry but are leading it, shaping its future. This transformation is not just about gender diversity; it's about the rich, innovative perspectives women bring to the table, which have proven to be indispensable in driving forward-thinking solutions and fostering inclusive work environments. The journey from being the only woman in the room to leading the boardroom has taught me that leadership is not a title; it's a behavior. We lead by example, by empowering others, and by driving change. The evolution of leadership roles for women in tech showcases a broader shift towards recognizing the value of diverse leadership styles and the unique insights women offer. This change didn't happen overnight. It's been a gradual shift, propelled by the relentless determination of countless women and allies. It's a testament to the fact that when we broaden our horizons, embrace diversity, and champion inclusivity, the entire industry thrives. I challenge you: What steps can you take, regardless of your role, to support and accelerate this transformation? Let's discuss. #WomenInTech #LeadershipEvolution #InclusiveInnovation

"In the future, there will be no female leaders. There will just be leaders" - Sheryl Sandberg I’ll prefix this post with saying diversity is about much more than just race or gender, but as today is International Women’s Day, i’m shining the spotlight on women. Someone in the team shared the quote above earlier today and it reminded me of this TEDx talk by Sheryl Sandberg (former COO of Meta) https://lnkd.in/eF-QycN2 - well worth a watch if you haven't seen it. As she puts it in the talk, “women systematically underestimate their own abilities”. I know this is true for myself having suffered with imposter syndrome and self doubt on and off over the course of my career. We work in a very male dominated industry which presents its own unique set of challenges. Thankfully my own experience at ManyPets has always been positive in that regard. I feel lucky to work with, and be continually learning from an incredibly talented team of engineers, product people and designers. It helps that we actively promote an inclusive, psychologically safe culture at ManyPets. You didn’t ask for my advice but here it is. Ladies you need to sit at the table. Make yourself a part of those discussions and decisions. Your perspective, insights and opinions are hugely valuable. To be honest that’s probably good advice for anyone wanting to grow in their career - but it’s not generally something that comes as naturally to women, especially when you’re the only one in the room. As a very good friend said to me today, sometimes the best starting point is just being present in those conversations. You don’t need to have all the answers. So there we are. Happy Friday everyone!!
