How do we validate that our solutions provide the expected AEP uptake? For performance validation, we use the robust and widely accepted side-by-side method. Based on blade condition and service histories, pairs of neighboring turbines are carefully selected; some to be upgraded and some for reference. Using time-synchronized SCADA data from pre- and post- upgrade installation date, the difference in power production is used to evaluate the performance of the upgrade solution. The difference in power performance is established before and after the upgrade installation and compared to establish the resulting AEP improvement. Typically, the side-by-side method requires 6-12 months of pre- and post- upgrade data to have a sufficient statistical basis for performing the analysis. PowerCurve upgrade solutions are thoroughly field-proven and validated by third parties to deliver high performance over the entire turbine lifetime.
