Great to see... As an EV driver and owner, this is great to see, so well done SSE. Drove past this the other day on my way back North. As an EV driver, I cannot help but notice the, sometimes, huge variation on charge costs, across the country, at public charge points. The lowest I have seen is 31p/Kwh, the highest, 89p/Kwh. Goverments advocate the use of EV,s for obvious reasons. At the higher band rate, it is more or less equivalent to putting petrol in your car. If government want more EV,s on the road, this is not incentivising is it?

The most powerful electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Scotland, installed by SSE Energy Solutions, is officially open! 🚘🔌 The Myrekirk Roundabout site will feature a total of 24 ultra-rapid charging bays with a total capacity of almost two and a half megawatts, the equivalent of 68,311 gallons of petrol. Eight of the bays will be powered charge units of up to 360-kilowatts, capable of delivering up to 60 miles of range in just three minutes. The hub is the first publicly accessible location anywhere in Scotland to feature charge units this powerful. The remaining 16 bays will feature 150-kilowatt charge units, sufficient to deliver just under 8 miles of range per minute of charging to a standard family car. Additionally, the project will feature a green roof populated with sedum plants to enhance the biodiversity of the site. Green roofs provide habitats for insects and birds and help to filter pollutants out of the air. 🥬 Find out more by heading to the link in the comments ⬇️🔗

Absolutely agree, the disparity in charging costs can be quite striking. It's crucial for governments to address these variations to make EVs a more attractive option. How do you think we can better incentivize consistent and affordable charging rates?
