Another milestone in our sustainability roadmap! We have successfully completed the renewal of the BREEAM Official certifications for the entire Polish portfolio under version 6 of the BREEAM In-use scheme. The renewal of five assets was done under BREEAM In-Use version 6, which places increased emphasis on the principles of #climateresilience, #socialvalue and the #circulareconomy . 🌿All our six assets: #FACTORY outlets in Warsaw's Annopol and Ursus districts, Poznań, Kraków and Gliwice as well as #FUTURAPark Krakow reached their “Excellent” rating In Part 1, which assesses building performance. 🌿In Part 2, which certifies building management, our Warsaw and Poznan outlets have been rated 'Excellent'. FACTORY and Futura Park in Kraków and FACTORY Gliwice achieved a 'Very Good'. In 2013, we became the first operator to earn BREEAM In-Use certification for the whole #outlet portfolio in Europe. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Novira Plaza’s journey toward setting new standards for green buildings in the region. “From the very beginning of the Novira Plaza development we’ve been aiming for the highest sustainability standards and are extremely proud to have achieved the LEED Gold certification. Other innovative technologies include a Building Management System (BMS), which controls and manages the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, fire safety, and indoor security. This system monitors data continuously, identifying abnormalities and sending alerts to resolve issues early. Additionally, the building’s air conditioning system with cooling beams ensures an optimal climate that enhances comfort and productivity for its tenants. Historic Buildings Meet Modern Sustainability at a&o Hostels a&o’s strategy centers on converting old office and commercial buildings into hostels, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of new construction. Their goal is to become Europe’s first net-zero hostel chain by 2025. Their 2023 sustainability report highlights a 77% reduction in CO2 emissions per stay since 2015, now at just 3.32 kg CO2 per night. Repurposing buildings avoids the emissions of new construction, conserves resources, and reduces waste.
