Episode 4 : Meet the Founder and President Of Sustainable Future Stewards, Vincent Marezva. The Sustainable Future Stewards exist to rally a community of passionate individuals committed to combatting climate change and promoting sustainability. Our goal is to educate, empower, and drive tangible actions towards a more sustainable future. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and collaboration with local stakeholders, we aim to inspire eco-friendly behaviors, implement campus initiatives, and advocate for policy change. By fostering a culture of responsibility and innovation, we strive to create lasting environmental impact and nurture a generation of environmental leaders dedicated to safeguarding our planet for future generations. In our pre-legalization phase, Sustainable Future Stewards has made significant progress. Over 2000 youth trained in at least 8 conservation-related topics through engaging Zoom webinars. Exciting plans are underway for our first-ever Sustainability Tournament, featuring quizzes, debates, and panel discussions. This landmark event is set to become our annual signature, dedicated to educating and raising awareness on SDG 13 and 14. #ZimbabweRises #YouthLeaders #Impactful2K

We all depend on Planet Earth for life and yet as a species, our collective actions are having devastating impacts such as a loss of biodiversity and climate change, among other things. It’s literally the definition of insanity, says Lisen Schultz, Associate Professor in Sustainability Science, Deputy Director for the Stockholm Resilience Center, University of Stockholm, Director of Education and the Programme Director for the center's executive programme in resilience thinking. We humans aren’t evil, our problem is we don’t see what we’re doing as damaging, nor can we see how we could do it differently. Our world is built around a formula of growth, rather than meaningful growth. In this episode of Corporate Unplugged, Lisen discusses the urgency of the climate change challenge, but also the potential opportunities it presents for us individually, as well as for companies, but, in a way that doesn’t create a whole new set of problems. REDUCING ECOLOGICAL DEFICIT In the age of globalization, industrialization, and development, addressing the ecological deficit is paramount. Our progress has come at the cost of the environment, necessitating a balance between growth and sustainability. While globalization connects economies, it accelerates resource depletion. Industrialization fuels growth but contributes to pollution. Development must prioritize ecosystem health. Positive shifts are evident—businesses adopt eco-friendly practices, governments enact green policies, and consumers drive sustainable markets. Education is key, nurturing an eco-conscious generation. International collaboration is essential to tackle climate issues collectively. Solving the ecological deficit demands a mindset change: the environment isn't a resource, but a partner. Sustainable progress considers both humanity and the planet. With our tools and global connectivity, we have the means to recalibrate our course. Let's shape a future where development thrives in harmony with the environment. #sustainabledevelopment #sustainability #sustainabilitymatters #ecologicalfootprint #footprint #climatechange #ecoconscious #policymakers #collaboration #ecologylife #environmentaleducation #sustainabilitymatters #sdgs2030

I am carbon literate now.🎉 Have you felt overwhelmed by the complexity of greenhouse gases and climate science? 🌍 I definitely have. Communicating the urgency of action felt like an uphill battle. As a sustainability professional, my focus has always been on holistic strategies. But I realized I needed to deepen my knowledge to better communicate the importance of sustainability in both personal and professional spheres. A special thanks to Aileen Williamson from AC-Eco for the wonderfully interactive session. It was truly a day dedicated to our planet, a gift to myself. 🌱 I'm excited to apply and share this knowledge, from the science behind climate change to practical ways to take action. Together, we can inspire and lead positive change. 💡 #carbonliterate #carbonliteracyproject #climatescience #sustainability

🌍✨ Excited to share that I've recently completed a transformative workshop on "Empowering Youth on Climate Change, Energy, and Developments" in collaboration with Climate Technology Solutions and IRENA, under the umbrella of SDG 7 Youth Constituency. 🌱💡 This immersive experience delved into the critical intersections of climate action, renewable energy, and sustainable development. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow change-makers, share insights, and learn from experts at the forefront of the global sustainability movement. 🚀 The workshop emphasized the pivotal role that youth play in addressing our world's most pressing challenges. It's inspiring to be part of a community committed to driving positive change and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy. I'm excited to take the knowledge and inspiration gained from this workshop into my work, advocating for sustainable solutions and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future. Let's continue to be the driving force behind meaningful change! 🌟🌏 #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy #SDGs #YouthEmpowerment #Sustainability
