These are the practical initiatives that can make a real difference. Well done Ronald.
We’ve been awarded a £3.1 million grant from @The Scottish Government Scottish Industrial Energy Transformation Fund to implement our carbon cutting heat recovery technology at our biggest and only grain distillery, Strathclyde. Earlier this week we hosted First Minister John Swinney showcasing our plans which have the potential to save close to 9,800 annual tonnes of carbon dioxide, equivalent to the energy needed to heat 4,082 medium sized UK homes. The grant funding is an important step towards reaching our target of carbon neutral distillation by the end of 2026, whilst also tackling the most challenging element of Scotland’s net zero strategy – the reduction and decarbonisation of industrial heat. “How are we going to decarbonise our economy and reach net zero? We need either to replace our asset base or we need to retrofit it. It’s the only way to get there. We can’t digitalise our way to net zero.” ✍ Get more context from the session by Reed Snyder, Principal of Verdane, on the challenges while financing our way to the zero-carbon world 🎥

The global clean energy race is on. Europe must take advantage of its policy and structural position! ➡ https://lnkd.in/dvN8mTEm Making the socio-ecological transition work for people and the planet is key to achieving sustainable emissions cuts. 'A European Clean Growth Mindset?' delves into why Europe must take advantage of its unique policy environment and structural advantages, unique among advanced economies, and find the right balance between decarbonising Europe's economy domestically and leading the rest of the world to do so. Europe must find a balance between energy efficiency measures on the one hand, and research, development, and the rapid deployment of new, cleaner technologies on the other. ⚖ 🌏 By balancing the demands of domestic consumers, producers, and citizens with their global counterparts, while helping stabilise the global climate in the process, Europe can square the circle of clean growth! Have you seen the latest version of Xtra Energy from Xodus? The newsletter shares Steve Swindell's thoughts on the changes to the EPL, and the risk to thousands of jobs and the UK’s energy transition. While recent offshore wind developments are promising, sustained financial support, regulatory clarity, and a balanced transition are crucial for achieving net-zero goals while maintaining the energy supply chain. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eiXj987f And to find more about the projects we’re working on: https://lnkd.in/eGhXCUVj #EvolvEnergies #Renewables #EnergyTransition
Last week we published issue two of our brand new newsletter which shares leading opinions and analysis from our Xperts on the latest goings on in the industry. We reflect on the continued strain of the EPL on the North Sea, as well as setting out our major asks around the key new energies required for the UK to reach net zero.
