Last week, New America CEO Anne-Marie Slaughter was part of a panel of leaders present at The White House who came together to celebrate public interest technology and its role in creating a more inclusive tech landscape that works for us all. Nearly $100 million in new funding commitments were made to further institutionalize public interest technology thanks to the National Science Foundation (NSF), United States Department of Defense, and a range of philanthropic partners including Ford Foundation, Siegel Family Endowment, Kapor Center, and The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. 💻 https://lnkd.in/g4C5pcpS

Kudos to Lisa Robinson, field specialist in regional economic development, for hosting a successful Regional Economic Development Summit in Mt. Vernon last week. The program, 'Improving the Economic Well-being of Your Citizens,' brought together city and county representatives, non-profit organizations, civic leaders, business owners, and individuals. Attendees explored tools and resources to help them achieve targeted goals for their communities. This is how we serve Missouri and deliver Mizzou! It’s almost Global Month of Volunteering (GMV)! For all my #Amazonians out there, we share our resources to benefit customers all year round, but GMV is a great time to do the same for the communities we’re part of too. Giving back to our communities is fundamentally Amazonian - just look at our LP “Success and scale bring broad responsibility”. The link below is an effort to support a non politically polarized effort - Cancer Research. A pain, many of us/ our families have unfortunately been impacted by. https://lnkd.in/g-VyyfFQ #sellinpartnerservices #spsgives #globalmonthofvolunteerig #amazon #corporateresponsibility #sps

"America continues to deny the legacy of racism and its current day realities, still racial disparities continue to exist on every indicator of well-being. In the case of the Fearless Fund, the data is clear, Black women entrepreneurs receive less than 1% of venture capital funding in this country irrespective of their creditworthiness or financial potential. The Fearless Fund is a courageous effort by Black women designed to address this funding gap; yet even when Black people raise funds to help our own community, we are attacked." Read more from ABFE.
