However, we’ve seen that sustainability-driven #MRX requests have TRIPLED over the past three years, showing other areas of business investing in greener practices. Glad to hear Richard Ottoy from Sharethrough and Adam Morton from UM London discuss the importance of attention both for awareness and performance campaigns. A few takeaways: ▶️ 2/3 of media buyers believe that there is a lack of industry standards for Attention (active vs passive, concurrent vs fleeting, perception load, etc.) ▶️ Standardisation as a goal is good, but it shouldn’t prevent progress and innovation in Attention technology providers ▶️ Viewability remains the leading metric to track engagement for now, but let’s keep in mind that it is mainly a proxy metric ▶️ A lot of viewers are watching content on mute and with captions, making it difficult to capture attention ▶️ For CTV there is a necessity to monitor supply for additional signals like content signals, genre, content length, production quality ▶️ To capture attention we need to provide a better ad experience and leverage inputs like weather location, pollen count, etc. to get closer to consumers and provide personalised ads ▶️ On sustainability, attention provides a way to effectively shift ad dollar spends towards good quality inventory and reduces unnecessary emissions for low-quality publishers #digitaladvertising #programmatic #adtech #attentioneconomy
