Celebrating the U.S. Army's Birthday 🎉 Today, we honor a significant milestone, the U.S. Army's Birthday. Each June 14th, we celebrate the establishment of the U.S. Army in 1775, recognizing over two centuries of service and sacrifice. The U.S. Army has not only defended our freedoms but also laid the groundwork for many innovations, including in the field of project management. Our brave soldiers and veterans excel in the art of getting the right work done efficiently and effectively. Their experience and discipline become invaluable when combined with proper training and opportunities in civilian roles. The British Army has lifted its ban on beards 😱🤯🤔, in an effort to adapt to current times and recruit more youth into the Armed Forces. With the U.S. facing similar challenges in recruitment, is this a policy change that should be pursued? While many service members may desire the option to grow a beard, would this actually make a significant impact on recruitment numbers? Ultimately, a relaxed policy on beards may be a nice perk for service members, but it's unlikely to be a deciding factor in their decision to join, stay, or retire. What do you think? Should the U.S. follow in the footsteps of the British Army and allow beards in the military?

This will definitely be a useful document to reference!
Last year, the SMA said he directed TRADOC to develop an Army level Blue Book. The TRADOC CSM, and his Enlisted Initiatives Group, put in countless hours, TDYs and IPRs to gather input for this document and for it to meet the SMA’s intent. Well, it’s here and will be formally released at AUSA. There will be a hard copy and a web app version. #LeadingChange #Warfighters #AUSA2024 #AUSA US Army | US Army TRADOC | U.S. Army Combined Arms Center

The mental act of translating contours and symbols on a map into a vision in your mind, placing yourself on and in the terrain, not only helps you navigate, but helps you to develop your ability to understand. Simply following a GPS will get you from point A to B, but there is no development of your mind or appreciation for the journey along the way. Developing your ability to visualize where you are, where you intent to go, and what you desire to achieve is what ROTC is all about. Everything you learn at Cadet Command has a larger purpose and meaning than it appears on the surface. Both for your personal development and our ability to assess your potential for leading our Soldiers. Never question the what, always consider the why. The why is almost assuredly to make you a better person and leader.
New year and a clean slate to not get lost during Land Nav 🧭 After the craziness of the holidays, we love a fresh start. We've got a new year ahead of us with lots of opportunities to #BeAllYouCanBe. What are you hoping to accomplish this year? We want to know 🗣️ ⬇️ #ArmyROTC | #LeadershipExcellence US Army TRADOC | U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) | GoArmy | US Army

Preparing for block 3 of U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) "Reflections on Warfare" course (our history course, 3 blocks, 28 total lessons). The US-RVN attack into Cambodia in April through June 1970 is a very useful campaign for the modern practitioner from the strategic to tactical levels. My TOP take-aways: (1) prioritizing operational surprise over logistical readiness is sometimes rewarding, but be wary of dipping in that well too often, (2) do not take C2 for granted, it just doesn't "happen" and its degradation or absence is usually catastrophic and (3) declaring you are "mobile" doesn't mean you actually are mobile ("show me"). TOP quote: "The tempo for supply troops could be numbing."
